Hello, I'm Sabie! Thank you for clicking on this post!
I'm a semi-experienced writer (been writing for about three years now, though not professionally) who wants to try my hand at a Webtoon for an upcoming contest, but unfortunately, my artistic ability is rather limited. I would be super pleased if an artist did a partnership with me!
Okay, so I have an entire planned out story - dialogue, characters, plot, everything. However, it works better as a comic than a novel (great emphasis on backgrounds, heightened emotion and symbolism that just doesn't translate as well in writing). I'm perfectly fine with constructive criticism, or if you want to change certain parts of the comic to your liking. It's going to be your comic too, after all!
I'd prefer an artist with less of a manga/anime style or a realistic style and more of a neat Webtoon style (see Wrath & The Dawn or Witch and the Bull for examples, though I definitely do NOT expect the same level of quality [no pressure]), with attention to emotion. However, I do not expect as much attention to coloring - you can even do this in black and white if it's easier, considering that it fits the story anyway! (MC is colorblind) But in the end, I'm open to ANY art style as long as you plan on staying for the project after signing up and we vibe well!
Genre is medieval fantasy, set in a land where hunters are ordered to kill witches, but witches can't kill, period. However, when the main character, a plant witch named Aishe, tries to disarm the hunter, Anton, the spell goes horribly wrong and he falls in love with her. Now, they have to travel to the Cyrilian Spring in order for the spell to be reversed. Please PM me if you want more details!
(Please note that this will not be an unhealthy relationship. It is made clear that the love potion is wrong, and the consequences of it [from both parties] are wrong as well. PG-13 rating.)
No rush - if you don't feel comfortable doing long-term or don't feel like your schedule's open enough, that's perfectly fine! Just please notify me before you decide to leave the project (if you take it on, that is)!
And if you feel busy or stressed out, just contact me. And I'll always sketch what the panels will look like as well, so that you can have more time!
I'm afraid that I cannot pay you right now, but if you feel like you require money, PM me and we'll see if we can work something out. If/when we start to earn money, I am more than happy to split our profits from Patreon (or other) and give you the majority. (Mayhaps 30/70 in favor of the artist?) This is a passion project for me, not a financial one. Though, the third place winners of the contest do get $3000 dollars and their stories published as an anthology! The length is around maybe 3-5 episodes, with 30+ panels an episode. However, I will be drawing the basic format of the panels in order to make it easier for you if you wish so, and the contest ends in June, so no rush!
While I am new to Tapas, I have done screenwriting and narrative creative writing as well - link to my works below!
https://vimeo.com/326112533 (Wrote the screenplay for a contest a while back, so it's kind of old)

I will wait two weeks before closing this thread, so feel free to PM me anytime during then!
Thank you for reading all this; have a nice day!!
