Writers block........ pls help

Read. All. The. Things.

Seriously. Read until you feel like you’re gonna burst, and then let all the words out as you write. It’s my tried and true version of “what goes in must come out.” As a forewarning, there’s not a specific amount of time or words to make this work. Sometimes I’m ready to write after an hour and sometimes it takes me 4 days. But I really do think this is one of the best ways of dealing with writer’s block because it doesn’t stress me out. It lets my brain fully focus on something else and relax in its own time.

I like to go out driving and walking around. Listening to music that correlates to the tone of the part you're trying to write or even just music that accompanies your novel in its entirety can be helpful. That's something I do anyway ^^ But I think as a few people have already have mentioned, it's good to take a breather Come back to it, it works for artwork as well. I work on pieces for 6-8 hours sometimes and I find it's always better when I work on it in shorter bursts and come back to it with a clearer and new perspective Much love, hope your writers block disappears soon!

Yes music is a great way to inspire words! I've been listening to Wildflowers by Tom Petty while writing a kind of emotional scene and it's really helped me get in the right moodset for it!

@WillowTree Ooh, I'll check that song out. I listen to these even if they sometimes do not accompany a part I am writing at the moment or the overall theme of the novel I am writing, instrumental music just helps my creative mind flow better

If you’re asking about music, try putting on whatever music you like having on in the background while having a regular conversation. That’s going to be different for everyone.

If you’re stuck on writing the regular conversation and it’s not just about setting the mood, try adding a little something more to the scene. Describe more of what’s happening. Add in some lame jokes (always my fav option) or write about the food that’s being eaten. Always add a little more if you’re struggling to write it because you can always cut it later.

Ok, here's where I admit something potentially embarrassing...

I listen to the Zelda: Breath of the Wild soundtrack when I'm in the mood for instrumental. It's just SO peaceful and it makes me happy since I then remember all the time my husband and I have sunk into the game.

I'll add these to my list and try to branch out on my instrumental music!

It is so sad but I also thought they did a great job of rounding out the trilogy. I mean, it’s really hard for a second movie to live up to the first and I feel like the third managed to, as well. It’s worth watching (especially if you need to cry LOL)
