Have you tried writing flash fiction or a drabble (100 word story) to practice in first person without it feeling overwhelming? Some things to remember while writing in first: - the main character isn’t going to know everything that everyone else knows - keep your writing active! Don’t get bogged…

I love using MBTI for my characters! It’s super fun to do and I feel like it really helps me figure out each character’s decision making process most of all. If you want a fun character study, try doing an enneagram :dizzy: it delves into core beliefs which are (often fear-based) motivators. It’s not a…

Mine has 2 parts, but here’s the link to part 1: https://tapas.io/episode/2371137

There’s been quite a few changes over the last year! The novels uploading page had a big overhaul at the beginning of the year (and most of the bugs are fixed now, too ) and you can upload images much easier into a novel now since it’s a built-in feature!!! [:hype_01:] Tapas discord, as darthm…

Hey everyone! Whenever you post your episode/s, please drop a link to the specific episode here! Then we can add all the links under our episode since this was a collaboration [:coffee_love:] Happy post-inksgiving!! [:heart_03:] @Lazu @foxnflames @SilverLugia456 @LettieK

1. What motivates you to leave comments on webcomics? If I get really emotional while reading (positive or negative emotions), I’m likely to comment [:tapa_pop:] 2. Why do you hesitate and do not leave a comment? Sometimes I type a comment out and then second guess myself right before I hit send. …

Now we just need at least one earth sign to do this and there will be a minimum of one story for each prompt! [:tapa_pop:] because I’m an Air sign, so I’ll being doing the third prompt!

Yesssss [:hype_01:] which prompt is yours??

Do You Believe In Magic Genres: BL, LQBTQ, Slice of Life Instead of running away from his problems – which is what he’d prefer to do – Jake Wells is stuck in his own personal nightmare. College was supposed to be fun, but now the whole school hates him. So when Damien Hernandes starts paying a…

@SilverLugia456 awesome! [:tapa_pop:] which prompt did you get? @LettieK yes!! You know you want to [:hype_01:]

Join the ”Lost and Found” writing collaboration for a fun episode or short story as an ink goal [:hype_01:] [image] Guidelines - sign up until Nov. 14 : - choose prompt that correlates with your astrological elemental sign - word count – upper limit of 3 Tapas episodes [:sweat_02:] - use hashta…

Check out Megachurch by @vblairehawthorne [:hohoho:]

All the time. I think it’s really helpful in learning how to follow your inspiration and creativity. Blocking myself in on a single project makes me feel almost claustrophobic, so I like having a couple projects on the back burner at all times. However, it is important to prioritize. I have no in…

Jake: INTP Damien: ENFJ Jake feels like his is fairly accurate. As much as these sorts of generalized tests can be, at least. Damien is annoyed by this because he doesn’t want it to be as right as it is about him. And he wants to mention that the “E” was very close to 50/50 [:sweat_02:] Hall…

My second Inksgiving! [:hype_01:] I feel a little more prepared this year! [:coffee_love:] I’m planning on doing tiered rewards again this year. In no particular order: a special episode (maybe two if the creativity hits [:sweat_02:]), an AU, and some character art [:heart_02:]

I voted for third person, but I think it really comes down to what suits the story best like @chestnutriceeee said. Both can be really helpful depending on the tone and vibe you want to give. And, maybe there’s a way to do both? Do most of the story in third and then have special episodes every here…

They’re both crying laughing at being called normal (for once!) but being stranded on an island sounds really peaceful [:smile_01:] It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these and it was fun

Jake: full on panics for a good while. Keeps reminding himself they’re lucky to be alive. Panics a little more, but a bit more quietly the second time around. Damien: tries to keep Jake from panicking. Let’s him pace around the “base” they’ve “claimed” (aka a tree that gives decent shade) or give…

I think the most important thing to consider, initially, is what would be logical for the story. Don’t just drop in psychological issues to add a sense of tragedy. If it doesn’t contribute to the overall storyline or the character’s experience, maybe hint at it, but don’t let it dominate the writing…

Much as I love a classic “happy ending,” I think the end of a story should follow the natural flow of the storyline. If there’s an epic battle right at the end, it would be entirely unrealistic for everyone to survive (meaning not everyone would have their happy ending, even if the protagonist does)…

Here’s my ongoing story: And here’s my completed short story:

This is Jake for most of the story :see_no_evil: [image] This is... [spoilers] :smirk: [image]

Ooh, Jake kind of... subtly trusts his gut instinct? It barely registers that that’s what’s happening, but he actually does make a lot of decisions based off of it  Damien has been learning to trust his gut. So it doesn’t come as naturally for him, but he’s trying really hard to pay attention when…

Good luck! It’s always worth a shot! [:hype_01:]

Their voice. The sound and cadence is important, but also how their inner monologue sounds. (So sort of their perception vs reality.) And I don’t feel like they’re complete characters until I can get any sort of random question about them and I’m able to answer fairly easily. That’s when I know m…

I have varied lengths of chapters, but I’ve had to split many of mine into 2, 3, and 4 episodes. None of my readers have seemed to have a problem with that (thankfully) I’ve also read many stories on here that have chapters split into two or more as a running norm. I think the key is to label th…

I’d love some feedback on my completed short story

Definitely on the light fantasy side, but it’s fairly integral to the storyline

I have one story I’ve been working on for over a decade. I’ll pick it up, write some really pertinent scenes, and then drop it for months or years. And it’s been interesting to see how various life experience and my knowledge and execution of writing has led to a much better story than I would have …
