I was thinking about making a small set of written poem series, but I'd like to call upon writers for some horror suggestions through poetic writing! I'll give a couple examples of what I'm looking for!
The room was silent, yet voices filled the air.
The people all around me, yet no one was there.
A cold chill rolls down my spine,
as I realize the voices were all mine.
Locked inside my head, nowhere to run,
I await the light of the morning sun,
To stop the voices before they had won.
A child is playing hide and seek alone,
his imaginary friend is all he has known.
A flicker of the streetlight reveals what shouldn't be shown.
The imaginary friend is a creature of clacking white bone.
You think it was just a trick of the light,
something to distract you from what you saw that night.
The next day, the child is nowhere to be found,
and the next night, you hear the same clacking sound.
Red light, green light, yellow light, stop,
You're driving home in the dark.
You glance to the sky as something caught your eye,
a light falling, with you as it's mark.
You stop your ride and pull to the side, hoping it goes away.
The light then stops, and watches for a in silence for a moment,
They find an empty car the next day.
Not the best, but hey, that's what I'm looking for! Something to reinvigorate the mind and get the creative juices flowing!
