Writers where do suggest to post?

So I know there has been a question about where others have and do post but what I didn't completely get from that is where people suggest to post.

I only post my short stories on Tapas and I was trying to get some more eyes on my work and so I was wondering, where do you think is the best place to post your writing?

Have you tried Reddit? There's very little money in it but some writing subreddits have very active communities.

I'm currently posting on r/HFY, the subreddit for Humanity Fuck Yeah. Lots of power fantasies but they have a bot that posts links of everything you've written on the sub (effectively a table of contents) and another bot that allows users to subscribe to you.

Well, Wattpad has a way bigger readership than Tapas, but Wattpad is also full of some of the worst (meanest people) writers I've ever seen (not their writing, their personalities).

On that website, they'll bully you to no end, it's all about competition, and the egos their make Trump look tame (yeah, it's that bad). However, if you want to get a faster readership, then you can try there.

Archive of Our Own allows original works, I just don't know how successful they are there. There's also the sister site to fanfiction.net called FictionPress (I think) you can check out. Never used Wattpad so I can't vouch for that (I def wouldn't like it if its full of shitheads as already mentioned. That's why I had an issue with ff.net bc you weren't allowed to block guests)

I used AO3 for original works before, and it was hard to get readers there. Yes, Wattpad is full of shitheads. That website should be a last resort. It just sucks that they have the highest readership online right now.

Lol, I don't want to complain anymore, but I've noticed most of being on these sites goes to crap. I find it best to focus on your work and do what you enjoy most: the writing.

That's what I'll be doing =)
