Y'all have any news on whether Tapas will put the Writers Camp on the Front Page?

It took a while to find what banner it was lol. I am glad to finally get to see y'alls stories in one place. I hope, though, they make it more prominent.

TBH even if there is no banner room due to all the promos, I don't think it would have been hard for them to send a message to the inbox (a la Daily Snack) with a link saying check out the writer's camp collection and sub to vote for your favorites. Either they specifically don't want to promo it for some reason (waiting for stories to be longer, don't want it to take attention away from comic promos which make $$) or there just is little attention within the company paid to novels... hopefully it's the former

The most disappointing part about all this was that every single one of us was excited for our stories to be shared with the rest of the Tapas community. It's unfortunately to see after weeks of waiting that the only advertisement we get is minimal and hard to find. I don't think anyone got a boost in their viewers

But since Tapas monitors the threads, I'm sure that they fully know about our disappointment and will surprise us. Or so I hope

Either way, due to the writers camp, the novel section is super lively and better than ever! So that's always a plus for everyone.

I know, this is so strange XD I don't know how hard it is to edit a website but surely it can't be THAT hard or time consuming LOL. It seems to me like switching out ONE of the banners with a writers camp one and notifying people on Tapas that there's even a writers camp going on could maybe be done with a click of the mouse? I dunno. It's just so disappointing. The first writers camp kind of went under the radar, too, but at least they had a promo for it on the front page 0o0

Well, at least we had fun and found some cool new stories <3.

Hopefully it will be a lesson learned for the next Camp? Who knows? There's still time so maybe they will have something on the front page. It's not over till it's over right?

I am a dev. I can confirm if you have the image ready it isn’t particularly difficult to add one more item to an existing carousel. Should be trivial send out a text announcement with a link, since they already have the infra to support that. If there is any delay it’s coming from product, not engineering

Just wanted to add - I am from the Bay Area where Tapas is located. In my time I have seen many a startup come and go due to mismanagement and other reasons. Tapas is absolutely a startup in these parts (5 years is a baby) and whether it can survive and maintain quality of its product remains to be seen.

ON the flip side of that, last round of VC funding they got was Aug 2017 for $5 million. Around here for a team of 15-20 that’s gonna last 2 years tops. Sure they’re making some money from premium comics, but I can also understand if they’re trying hard to focus on profit atm (which sadly is not novels)

Yes... with all that said, unless it’s going to detract from their revenue somehow (which I doubt an inbox message or a promo in the back of one of the carousels would), I don’t see any reason not to send an announcement other than negligence... I really, really want Tapas to do well so I’m really hoping that this isn’t a warning sign of mismanagement/inefficiency, but it is the sort of thing that would be a red flag to me when I am assessing whether to work somewhere

I'm still on board with the something great is coming we just don't what theory, they must have something planned esp after what was stated about featuring camp and all that!

That's true... it's also possible they're planning something larger scale that involves coins or something, which would take more work!

Yep, we won't really know until the contest ends so we should just focus on making our stories the best we can for when the end does come!!

I really hope this is the case. My entry is the sixth one down in the list after you tap the banner and I've only been getting less views since it went up on the front page. Unless 5 views in one day for a ten-episode novel is already a decent amount...?

I feel you XD it's really frustrating how little they're advertising it and it seems as if whoever had the most subs to begin with before the camp started is going to win without any promos on the front page. (which is okay by me. I love Peni's work) But holy smokes! I was hoping to get more subs and views than this--hopefully get my name out, you know?

5 views isn't bad, however. I think I got 11 views on mine so far today so mine's definitely been going down too. We all also have to keep repeating to ourselves that how many views or subs you get does not reflect the quality of our work.
