Your Favorite Video Game Music Remix

Video Game OSTs are as amazing as Orchestras or Radio Music (and can be equally as shit)

However, do you ever feel that someone's remix of an game song is almost as good or sometimes BETTER than the original? And I don't mean the typical rap remix or dubstep mix either. I mean going further as in full conversions, or rearrangements that give off a different feel to the original. The Smash remixes are a good example.

There's a good chunk of those that I really enjoy over the original, and I'd like to show you three of my favorites along with the originals for comparison.

but I actually liked all of the songs they've chosen tbh

Seriously I happened to find him from his FF7R remixes and some others on twitter but he's so freaking good!

This remix of Studiopolis Act 1 by Sir J (formerly on SoundCloud but disappeared)

(I've got opinions on Materia Collective but-) this FF7 remix

They're not entirely remixes but it's a compilation album of various Sonic music composed/mixed by Tomoya Ohtani (the transitions are stellar and it's got a handful of fan faves)

i think you'd have to have gone down the rabbit hole of youtube mmd videos for this one but this very specific remix of the rubberobo boss theme from medabots medabee

and the original for comparison along with the mmd video i found it from (no judging plz)

These FF8 remixes of Compression of Time Specifically

I could go on and on about understale remixes but these are some top faves

I'm a big big sucker for remixes so it's not uncommon for me to save like tons especially if they're hitting all the right notes (pun intended)

lol well to be fair Sonic and Undertale were essentially hyperfixations (esp the former) but I'm almost always on the hunt for new music so i've got like a hoard of music saved
