Do you have any favourite artists or writers that you enjoy watching on Youtube? ( : I'm thinking of expanding my watch list to include people that do what I'd like to be doing, to show myself that hey, it IS possible
Share you favs and tell me why do you like them!

even more bonus points if they have a full time job and still do art (...or used to have a fulltime job when they started Youtube)
even more bonus points if they're doing comics, but other forms of art are welcome

My current art-related watchlist is pretty small I watch mewTripled who works in animation industry and her videos are mostly focused on that. There's also Uncomfy who has a clay business and very cozy and relaxing videos. As for writers, the only one I watch quite regulary is Christy

Some of my faves for comics:

Strip Panel Naked isn't a comics creator, just somebody amazing at analysing comics and interviewing comics creators in a way that gets really deep insights into their creative process. Absolutely love this channel. Sadly doesn't update much these days:

The Creator of Gunnerkrigg Court goes through past chapters and talks about them. Best to read at least about 12 chapters or more into the webcomic before you start watching these, and always read a chapter before watching the video for it or you'll hit spoilers.

Alexa Donne is a writer who talks about writing and publishing. I love her practical advice and no-nonsense attitude.

I love B-Mask and Matthewmatosis.

I learned a lot from these two. B-Mask I listen to because he finds this neat middle ground when reviewing media. He doesn't bash something non-stop like your regular critics. He always finds little nuggets and appreciates stuff for what they are. He can be a little smug with his beliefs sometimes (especially in the comment section), but he changed the way I write, so I respect him. He's also REALLY funny.

Matthewmatosis is the KING. He's a video game critic, but whenever he talks about small details and how that impacts a story, it's advice every writer should take regardless the medium. His Bioshock Infinite video and his Last of Us 2 videos are phenomenal. Bioshock Infinite with how that game misuses racism and ends up being racist in the end and Last of Us 2 with things fall apart between the Ellie-Abbey two-way narrative.

He's also the only critic to give me existential dread too lol.

I think it was this video where he said "If I don't make another video, it's probably because I retired. But if I do, eh..."

Also I HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking out his second channel too and his updates on his video game. It's interesting seeing how much of a perfectionist he is.

Gigi Murakami (Her art is amazing. Very long streams regarding her manga. Another channel I like to play in the background @GigiMurakami)

StudioEvergreenArt (I read his comic on CF, too XD But we watch each other's channel. His art's super cute @StudioEverGreenArt).

Voltergeist (author of The Alchemist Review. I love her sketchbook tours. Great art. @Voltergeist).

LOL, I just realized pretty much all of these people are from CF. I know there was a YouTube thread over here, but I'm not sure if the people I watched from here stopped uploading or what? Or maybe I just dreamed following them o_O That was probably several years ago when I last saw that thread XD
