Yesssss, Eurovision! Best part of the year!

Some of my favourites have already been mentioned here, like Urban Symphony and AWS! Here's a few others I've loved over the years:

Carl Espen - Silent Storm was a rare moment where I liked a slow song but it was soooo good.

MaNga's We Could Be The Same was my favourite to win that year! It should've won!

Honestly, this was such a good entry from us and I've been sad that in recent years Finland has just resorted to vote grabbing options instead of sending actually good music in.

There are so many more! I loved Rise like a Phoenix, it was one of the timest when I truly was happy for the victor! Idi Adamou's La La Love was so bad it ended up being good and gets stuck in my head every now and then. Harel Skaat's Words was also another slow one that won me over... I could go on!

OOOOHHHH Harel Skaat totally won me over too! Me and some of my friends from school were totally obsessed with the song (And how beautiful the guy was)

But If I remember correctly he went off-pitch in the final performance? It was a shame. The song's really great.

Another Israeli entry I was just reminded of was Boaz from 2008. The song isn't that great, but his voice is so beautiful! I was obsessed.

About the finnish vote grabbing, I actually just talked about this with my friend yesterday, how finland just keeps sending in mainstream bullshit that you forget a minute after you heard it and like we need to go back to our roots and send in meme-able shit heavy because if we're not going to win atleast we can enforce our accurate stereotypes xD

Eurovision 1980 - Norway. I'll never forget this. We start off with folk, then it goes full on showbiz... then someone wanders on and what can only be described as joik happens. It sort of develops into a fugue and then just - stops. I've been waiting 40 years but nothing has ever surpassed this.

The first time Australia got involved (because they're totally Europe) and totally got into the spirit of things and gave us a fun feel good boggie

One of the few power ballads I'm really fond of (also her dress is killer). I heard so many people say if she wasn't Russian she would have won and I heard she got booed by the crowd in the earlier rounds.

The UK has a horrible reputation with Eurovision recently but this was super cute in that terrible cheesy mushy coupley way and I love the aesthetic.

Something not from 2015 (apparently that was a good year for me). The yodel rap thing.

Huh, neat. Thanks for telling me a bout it. Eurovision has always been on of those things that I've always found fascinating, but never really got into said bubble. (Which is weird, because a contest in which everyone competes to see who can preform the craziest musical number sounds like the type of crazy awesome that would be right up my alley.)

Well it's not all weird acts sometimes there's a serious like Urban Symphony or sometimes it's serious act that somehow becomes hilarious. The contest was bit more serious and singers used to be backed by an orchestra.

Some things I learned that the Swedes way into the contest then it's humanly possible and contest launched ABBA, Olivia Newton-John, Dschinghis Khan, and Celine Dion into international stardom.

Eurovision fans! I never knew we were on Tapas! I've just recently returned to Tapas after a long time away. It's so hard to pick a favorite...obviously, Alexander Rybak THE KING OF EUROVISION is a top one for me.
