Hello everyone! I'm returning to Tapas after taking time away focusing on other aspects of my comics career. I'm a fine purveyor of fantasy comics and tragic shenanigans. Here on Tapas is my series Black Ball, a 1920s magical murder mystery! When her sister is murdered, Emily Trent decides to find…
A teenage girl goes partying and hangs out with strangers after her sister is murdered. https://tapas.io/series/Black-Ball
Poor Emily is usually just along for the ride. She's getting better though. [image] [image] [image] [image] [image] https://tapas.io/series/Black-Ball
[image] [image] https://tapas.io/episode/1977917 Hello everyone, I'm a returning creator, been away for awhile. But now that I've successfully funded the first 3 issues of Black Ball on kickstarter, I'm returning to Tapas to introduce more people to the story!
Hi all, I just made a return to Tapas with my ongoing comic Black Ball, a magical murder mystery in an alternate 1920s.
Hello all! I recently returned to Tapas after spending time away and decided to start posting my webcomic Black Ball here. A clueless girl and a man about town dive into the underground world of speakeasies and black market magic to solve a murder mystery in an alternate 1920s! [image]
Eurovision fans! I never knew we were on Tapas! I've just recently returned to Tapas after a long time away. It's so hard to pick a favorite...obviously, Alexander Rybak THE KING OF EUROVISION is a top one for me. Gotta love epic sax guy^ My personal winner in 2016, but I mean there were so m…
Interesting, it seems much more minimalistic than patreon, just a line or two to give your info. Wonder if it's worth getting into?
Something I do is to make what the joke is about part of the character. For example, in an upcoming episode of Vatican Assassins, my character Fife realizes that there are people buried in the floor of the church they are in and freaks out about it, much to the annoyance of his friends. This is base…
I have a Redbubble store just for the hell of it: https://www.redbubble.com/people/mjmassey/portfolio With Redbubble, they take care of all the printing and manufacturing, and then I get a cut. I don't even have to pay to have the store up. I haven't made many sales yet, but it's nice to have a pl…
Now that Vatican Assassins is back and running, it could use your votes! http://topwebcomics.com/vote/15908 Thanks guys, and good luck this month!
I just rebooted my comic, though most of the characters are the same, they just haven't shown up yet. The WITCHNIGHT girls were pretty popular and really grew on me--they were the Wiccan expies of the main trio and paired with them well. I also had a fondness for "Headphones guy"--a member of the Ot…
A very clever idea! Too bad I just rebooted, so I won't be ready for reviews for a longgggggg time yet. I look forward to checking out these reviews though.
I did pretty good last week with getting both Tapastic and Youtube going again, but I've also had other projects that I've had to do. Most notably, there's an art show with a submission deadline of this Friday. I think I can finish the piece tonight, but it has taken me a long time to do, and that's…
I agree, for me Twitter has been more lucrative for getting my stuff out there than Facebook. I've been doing a bit of Instagram as well and found that people are liking my progress shots of the comic, though none of ventured over to the site yet.
Yesss I would love a "if you liked this comic" feature, because sometimes I read through something and I'm like "I would love to read more like this! How can I find them......?!"
When I'm not doing comics, I feel lost and disoriented. I love my story and my characters, and I just have to get it down on paper!
Perhaps there could be a controlled way to do it? Every so often have a reader poll where there's a choice of four comics or so picked by the staff, and then have the readers vote which should get featured? Something to that effect
My day job is in advertising, and we're always doing social media stuff. Here's some basics to help you get started: Pictures and videos will always help you get more engagement with your posts (ie. more people liking and retweeting) Videos at this moment I think have a limit of 1 minute. I use tw…
Hello and welcome! This is a great community and a great place to get started. I just relaunched my long running webcomic Vatican Assassins and have been on Tapastic a couple of years in total. I've found the community very helpful and informative, I hope you will find it that way too. Looking forwa…
Sparkler is great and they have some great quality stuff, plus they are very reputable. I thought about pitching, but with my relaunch, being away on a trip for a few days, and then an art show piece to make, I just didn't have time to put something together. I wish they had announced this earlier. …
I only have about 8 subscribers so far, but I just posted today! My comic, Vatican Assassins is rebooting and just returned to Tapastic today. It's the first time I'm doing a comic in color, so I'm pretty excited! [image] [image]
I started trying to do it last year, but between making a comic and working I just didn't have time. Maybe this year though!
@eslameldeeb thank you so much for checking out my comic! I admit that my artwork is on the cartoony side, but I have such a love of European architecture that I can't help but draw it! I'm practicing all the time, so it will only get better from here. I'm glad to hear it looks okay on phones! I di…
Thank you @apurviance!
Hello cool kids! You might remember me as the author and artist behind Vatican Assassins, which had been running on Tapastic here for quite some time. Earlier this year, I decided to step away from the comic for a bit and rethink things about how I wanted to make comics and art in general. Which bri…
Agreeing with @ToonDoctor here in that sometimes using local slang can more firmly place a characters in their setting...or show how they don't fit into the setting. In my comic, I'm dealing with a very international cast all gathered in one place, Rome. I have an Irish character who lapses back …
I do everything myself: writing, drawing, colors, web development, and social. A friend a business partner of mine is going to help me with some graphics for the website, but on the most part it's just me. I'm too pick with how I want to comic to look to just be a writer.
I hear you OP. I was doing Tapastic for over 2 years, still never had more than 50 subs. But now I'm relaunching, I feel better about the story in this new form. I think to most important thing is to do it for the love of the story, but there are certainly days when you wish that you had more people…
Hello everyone! I'm sorry I dropped off the grid for awhile there, but there's exciting news: Vatican Assassins is relaunching! And with that, I want to finish up the Tap-Vision reviews that I started. So if you haven't been reviewed yet, you are still on the list, and will be getting a review bef…
