Zombie Apocalypse movies

I always wondered why mainstream rock or metal bands' are always used in zombie movies; why don't producers use Death Metal, wouldn't bands like CANNIBAL CORPSE, SIX FEET UNDER and many others be more suitable for these types of movies..?

Because Death Metal honestly isn't that popular, and it's better publicity to use already-well-known bands.
For example, I noticed a lot of people at my school wouldn't have seen Big Hero Six if Fall Out Boy didn't have a song in it.

Death Metal: ferocious vocals telling tales of horror, war, hardship and political activism.

I agree about the (issue of popularity) of Death Metal...but, Death Metal is known to many; my thoughts are, why it isn't it use for zombie movies,
