Always 4 layers, one for black and white artwork, the other formthe colored artwork, other for dialogue bubbles, the last for Sfx sounds and dialogue.. I wish I could put more layers but I do my comics on my tablet using sketchbook pro which only lets me use 4 layers on the biggest canvas size 1649…
If its just Black and white usually an hour at most, unless there are backgrounds in which case it can be up to 2-3 hours, I HATE backgrounds @.@ I usuall take an hour or so to color.. So around 2 hours for a colored page.. But usually less, like 1 hour or so.

Well planning ahead can be good but some of the best mangas weren't exactly planned, e.g. Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya were made week by week (without really planning) Toriyama has said he simply continued the story as it went.. Then you have One Piece or Naruto which are mangas that were planned…

Has anyone used createspace? Their prices seem pretty good, and it should be reliable as its amazon's service. EDIT: Just read @paigelavoie so yeah seems like createspace is good. Do you print in color or Black and White?
