This one is "done" (more to come maybe?) but still a lovely read: Brightly coloured space action: Your neighbourhood dragonfly tells you interesting insect and critter facts:
I haven't uploaded it yet but you'll be in for: That early 2000's feel Eastern European architecture Creatures based on mythology Weird hippies A bit of conspiracy stuff Food Insects Cats
I'm 27 and have been drawing since I was able to hold a pencil to a piece of paper. But compared to other folks I never practised much. I wasn't bad but slow as hell, and I still am taking a long time to finish a drawing. I started doing resarch about making webcomics in 2010.
Interesting that a lot of people learn German here, which is my native language. I'm doing pretty well in English. I even do translations, but not without an internet dictionary. I tried to leard Russian using only books, but now I visit a course as well. It's just that books don't help you much w…
I hope you enjoy this sketch of my charater Stan. He is a lot of things but definitely not human. Seemingly an open-hearted personality, spiritual, a good listener, and hey – he even does paperwork. [image]
OMG, those skates made me chuckle XD
The avatar is the bait you fling out to potential viewers, so it's the most important thing. I like to see at least one character on the avatar so I know what kind of style and colours (feels) await me here. I don't like avatars with just a logo or the ones that look completely different from the ac…
Crowd scenes come to mind first, but I also have close to no experience with drawing dynamic scenes like fighting, jumping, perspective changes etc. I remember when I drew my first piece of interior and it still haunts me ... but I've gotten better, thankfully. I actually like drawing cars and …
I have a lot of pets that need care, I live for good food so cooking and baking is my passion, I like watching Let's Plays (I rarely play video games myself but I love watching other people playing), I started learning Russian this year, I enjoy going for a walk, if there happens to be snow I go sle…
One should not forget that for a lot of artists here, drawing is a hobby or a passion, and IMO that shouldn't be more than you can handle.
I try to sqeeze in at least 1 hour a day, 2-3 at a weekend day. Sleep, cooking and free time is important for me; more important than drawing I guess. My deepest repect to all of you who study (or work full time, like me) and still draw several hours a day.
I include my speech bubbles as soon as I do the scribble. I tend to draw unecessary details, anyway, but I refuse to draw stuff that's going to be completely hidden later.
English is not my native language but I'd say I'm not bad at it. I'm used to read English content on the web. I have to admit I read 'they'/'them' refer to a single person in a story here on Tapastic the first time and I got hella confused. I thought I missed something plot wise and re-read whole pa…
I am female but always had male almost exklusively male charaters up my sleeve. This is probably because I have a hard time identifying with other girls when I was younger. For my current project I really tried to include more female characters but I still have a lot less experience drawing female b…
I also use characters from different places. Briefly, I thought about adding accents but that is something I personally would not enjoy to read because it is harder to stay focused ob what they are actually saying. Or it would maybe even sound offensive against the race of a character. So instead, I…
My comic "The White Crows" (http://tapastic.com/series/whitecrows) was inspired by so many things ... People I know, myself, fictional characters, mythology, things I'm angry about, things I like, etc. Of course, watching anime and reading manga and comics was a big influence. I started out thinking…
Initially, I started my comic project out with a blind character among the mains, but since I reworked it over and over, he lost his meaning somehow. I now have a character with a similar condition to autism in the main cast.
Since having a chicken and an egg as my avatar, I find I am qualified to answer this question. Our ancient arthropod ancestors laid eggs, ancient fish laid eggs, the first amphibians and reptiles laid eggs, thus came egglaying birds and finally, the first domestic chickens laid eggs. Therefore, the…
