For me it's a mix of the two. I don't think a webcomic with amazing art and no story will keep me reading for long. but it's not just history either, it's because of the art that is a comic. I think the two need to support each other.

the new cover is great, it really makes me want to read it and understand the context behind it.
Racoons, i find them pretty cute
true, after all, art is the first thing we see, and the easiest thing to judge whether we like it or not. although we need to have a good story, that doesn't eliminate the fact that a beautiful story with a bad presentation is not going to attract many readers.
something that can be really off putting for me is when characters act out of character for no motive, like if the character suddenly changed personality for a few seconds just to move the plot.

well, if all these stories are from the same universe, i don't see why don't put them together. probably would be better that way.
