I pretty much just make art for fun, so the existence of AI generated images and text doesn't really effect the reasons why I make stuff.
I'll let you know my opinion on AI art if any is ever created. Right now there are only AI generated images.
I love it. I'd say its a pretty good likeness considering it was based on text description only, I think she could still be recognized as being a different version of the same character. For reference here's what she looks like in my comic. [image][image]
This seems like fun so I'll drop a character description here if you are still doing more of these. Crysta is not human but she is basically humanoid, the big difference being the head and hands. She has kind of a muppet mouth for lack of a better way of describing it. No visible nose or ears.Eyep…
You're welcome to read my comic if you want. Idk if there's enough action in here to qualify as an action comic, but its definitely fantasy. And if you do decide to read it, feel free to leave any feedback if you wish.
I feel like the intentionally did not create a way of blocking/ignoring these messages, but I am very interested if there is an actual way to do it.
I like them all, but shadow looks really cool to me personally.

I modelled the characters in Blender. I am using some unusual shaders and post processing to try and get a unique look. It really is possible to get a wide variety of 3d styles with a bit of experimentation.

I decided to completely avoid making human characters, although they are sort of humanoid, I like to come up with weird monster heads, hands and other things to make them clearly inhuman. Many details are just added on a whim because I think they might look cool. Here's a few of my characters. Rol…

On a whim I put in a dragon as an enemy to add more danger, and then after he was defeated the dragon switched sides and joined the heroes, so now he's a main character. Didn't plan this out in advance or anything just decided to do it.
Wow, great job. I've been told by some people that this is a hard character to draw, but you nailed it, you got all the little spikes and tendrils in there. She looks great in your style. Thank you.
Thank you for choosing me as the winner. I'm glad you enjoyed my artwork. And great work by everyone else who participated. Its great to see the same character interpreted by many different people. For my prize I would be thrilled if you could draw Zyphy, which is still my favorite character desig…
The topic of music hasn't come up in my comic, but I think I can reasonably decide what music they enjoy listening to. Most modern genres of music don't exist in the setting. Roland: Listens to what we might call "classical" music but is really just the popular music of the day, he enjoys dramatic…
In my comic, Roland and Zyphella call each other Rolly and Zyphy. I don't think any of the other characters have gotten nicknames.
Here's my version of Gibberish, And as an added bonus to peak behind the scenes, a wireframe render of the character. The wireframe is not really part of the submission but I thought someone might be interested in seeing it. [image] [image]
First I had to consider whether these foods even exist in the setting of my comic. Something like pizza probably does exist but I doubt anyone had made pineapple pizza yet. Pineapples are not native to Uniconta and would have to be imported from the Distant Isles. If it was prepared for him, Roland …
Is it okay to do a 3D render rather than a drawing?
I think my favorite OC is Zyphy. I think she turned out to be a cool interesting character design both visually and in her backstory. [image]
Looks great. I don't think the left side is too dark, sometimes really high contrast between lighter and darker areas is is interesting. And I see he still has a nice majestic tail. I can see that even in this form he still has the heart of a dragon, although maybe not the same tolerance for heat.
I understand if you don't want to do this, but here's something to consider, drawing Draco as a bird. I've heard that birds either evolved from or still are reptiles, so maybe this is easier than drawing humans/humanoids as birds. [image][image][image]
Looks really good, the lighting looks really dramatic, and he looks like he's ready to start an adventure. Thanks for drawing this.
The drawing looks really cool, and you even added another character. Thanks for doing it. And the clothes are inspired by an era of history, which also happens to be when piracy was really big, so I'm not gonna complain that you, and some other people as well, think pirate when they see this desig…
I've been asked this before, and I don't really have an answer. I just design monster people for fun without thinking too much about what they are. But he's a nice guy. He's not that different from a human, other than his hands and feet and face.
If you're still taking characters, consider doing a bird version of Roland. [image]
He does have only one nose, but it should be sufficient. If you want to know what type of creature he is, I don't really have an answer to give. I just design weird monster people without thinking too much about what they are.
If you want, you're welcome to draw Roland [image]
These look good. I did quick sketches in college, and I found it really tough, 30 seconds is not a lot of time. I think you did pretty good job with my characters, I can recognize them.
Feel free to sketch any of my characters. [image][image][image]
I have a few female characters. First is Zyphy, former monster hunter and current scholar of antiquities. Expert on ancient magical artificats. [image] Crysta, leader of multiple revolutions. Travels from country to country toppling monarchs. Not always successful but she just keeps going. [imag…
Here's a variety of character eyes. [image]
