great topic! I don't know if I've been at it for long enough to gave a super detailed story, but I'm a year and a half (and 99 episodes) into my first comic so there is some stuff I can talk about! It's exhilarating to have a comic at all! It's something I always wanted to do, and I'm so glad tha…

Thank you for letting me know!

That's so.., weird! So they stopped working for me and started working for you? well, I'm relieved that at least some people can see gifs in the app, hopefully my readers can... and hopefully I get the ability to do so back eventually

No they definitely have worked in the mobile app before. I've never even visited the tapas website on my phone's internet browser.

I've definitely had GIFs work on mobile before though, I showed an animated section to my friends using my phone just a couple weeks ago!

I've recently been taking advantage of gifs to integrate animated sections into my comic, but today I was reading through an old page on mobile and realized the gif wasn't moving- in fact, none of my episodes with animated sections have any motion at all anymore! (They still move on desktop) Is t…

[image] Simone and Maya just so happened to line up perfectly in the chart like the drawing I copied their faces from, which I really like I wouldn't describe teru as a coward, per say, but more 'smart enough to know she doesn't stand a chance against anyone with any sort of fighting ability' S…

It's interesting to me that the term "manga" means "Japanese comic" in the west, because I speak some Japanese and have several Japanese friends, and even if I say"コミック” (Japanese spelling of the english word "comic) when referring to my comic, they'll still sometimes say Stuff like 「今日は漫画を描くのだった?」…

this week's episode of my webcomic has a small animated section, and I really enjoyed the way to enhanced the scene and the creation process- have any of you used gifs in your work? please share yours if you have! (here a cropped version the animated bit) [image]

I've recently been teaching myself to animate! [image]

I personally consider my comic a success regardless of numbers and subscribers and what have you, since It has been fantastic art practice and a ton of work, and I am a better artist, writer, and more adapted to hard work for future projects because I created it. If people read and enjoy it, that's …

Here's a couple of my characters! [image]

I do a LOT of drawing, and I have gotten paid for it a couple of times in the past, but I actually teach English as a foreign language! (I have a linguistics-related degree, and I'm hoping to go for a masters in the future) Covid put a lot of things on hold for me, but I used to teach immigrant stud…

Apogee updated today! Here's my promo art for twitter and insta and stuff [image]

Japanese can be read vertically or horizontally comfortably! In some Japanese books I have they go from vertical to horizontal back to vertical on a single page! But choosing between vertical and horizontal is definitely something I may ask a Japanese friend about. Since my comic is originally in…

The beta-reader is good advice, thank you! I don't think you should feel ashamed! It was probably really good language practice, even if it wasn't perfect!

Like the title says: Has anyone on here ever translated your series into another language? I post in both Japanese and English on my socials, so I've been considering translating my comic into Japanese, both for fun and so that my Japanese friends and followers can read it too. Have any of you trans…

I do covers for every "part" of my comic, the most recent one is this: [image] the title "color context" is in reference to the way in which certain colors will appear different depending on what colors surround them. I chose this title because this part focuses on the characters backstories and …

Apogee updated today! Check it out! (panel from today's update) [image]

Thank you! :relieved: It was definitely hard at times to keep up my drive to keep going, but i was always glad I did!

When I started, a year ago, I wasn't sure if I was cut out to make a webcomic, but now it has been one full year of weekly episodes since the start and I'm still really, really enjoying it! It's been a huge learning experience and I'm so grateful to everyone who has read, liked, and commented on my …

Here's the thumbnail for my series! [image]

My comic is an urban sci-fi set in a month long time loop!

I had so much trouble adapting this art to banner size... It's actually still a little off, I think [image]

@Aleksei Your poses, perspective, and color pallet are really good! And your style is very clean! @Inspector_Spinda I love your character designs! They're super charming and easily recognizable! @Rhonder Your style is great! Very detailed and well composed! The perspective is impressive! @Faf…

@gabriellabalagna Your perspective IS really good! It's really realistic and clean looking! I also love the colors and attention to detail @CursedBeasts Your art style is super striking! Reminds me of the art from the hellboy comics, but it has it's own unique charm to it! @Macarenaoftime OMG …

A while back I made a thread called "what do you think is the most unique thing about your art style" and it did pretty well! I think it's important for artists to have an opportunity to look positively upon their work! Like last time, I'll try to respond to as many comments as I can with somethi…
