We also have a perpetual dissatisfaction with our own work

I think it's ok if it's done smartly, but there are certain limits because sometimes nowadays people use cynicism as a way to look or sound intellectual.

A horse sized duck, because ducks are soft... I think.

Yeah, finally! :grinning:

When you start a story, you need to know how is going to finish, because that is going to determinate how the character or characters are going to get there. The middle are the obstacles that are going to be for the character to don´t get to his goal. Of course, these obstacles are going to increase…

It depends of what I'm drawing, but almost always I listen to classical music ( from the romantic period, baroque, impressionism, etc.) because in that way I can feel like I´m doing the scene for a movie. I also listen a lot of movie soundtracks (Joe Hisaishi, John Williams, Max Steiner, Erich Korng…

I think it's a kind of desperate way to advertise.

I suffer drawing backgrounds because I have to consider the perspective of everything, and somehow I seem to screw it, but some backgrounds come naturally because of the compositional requirements that the panel has.

I hope you enjoy mine

Mortimer or Morris sounds strong to me.

To me, I will consider success if I can entertain someone, transmit a feeling to someone, or a message, because that's the goal of my work.

I understand heartbreak like any situation that damages your soul (the death of a close person, when someone I care feels bad, failing a goal, etc.) and not only talking in a romantic context. Anyways, in both ways it feels like something you can´t control, and feel bad about that. Like a blackhole …

I recently changed my profile pic to this one [image]

I like telling stories because I feel it´s the only way I can express myself in a deeper way. Although I only have one series at the moment (https://tapas.io/series/Sarahs-Plant), some of the situations that the comic has or is going to have are situations inspired in my real life, my ideas, my inf…

Yeah, because doing it helps me a lot to get the character's feeling, and it's much better when you have a mirror by your side

I use Photoshop for editing my pages (adding text, text bubbles, cleaning, panel boxes, grays, etc.)

It's too long when it hurts.......... To read.

I think it's better to let the reader know the character is a monster, because with that you can focus on the plot of the monster trying to fit in. One similar plot is the King Kong movie from the 30's, the viewer knows the big ape is a frightening monster, but the relationship with the woman let th…

My parents supported my creative skills, but they encouraged me to keep good grades in school. My teachers were fascinated by the fact I was "that kid that draws well"

I really wanted to go to an art school when I was in high school, but in the country where I come from are very little chances to live fully from art, so I'm in college to get a BBA

Many of the situations you mentioned are almost the same as mine, so I know how do you feel. Maybe you could start asking why do you draw, or what do you like drawing. Another thing you can do is get distracted with movies, reading books, manga, comics or whatever you like, that might help you to in…

When sheeps can´t sleep, do they count humans?

I personally think the one with grays look better for your style. The first one without shadows looks kind of flat, but I also recommend using more blacks (this is a trick from manga) not only for shadows, but also for objects, or clothes for example so the page don't look all white (like unfilled p…

I think that a visual artist should have a kind of anonymity, because the most important thing that should be criticized is the art itself.

This is a story about a girl with a mother who becomes sick because of a storm, and now she has to save her and all that stuff.

In Youtube I only searched a Shrek video once, and now all my feed is full of strange and scary Shrek videos. That started my fear to search funny things.

I hope all of you like my story based in the 19th century. Keep creating people!

A basic way to make a story is planning an overall plot, and knowing how your story is going to start, and how is going to finish. With that, now you divide all in sections, and add little pieces to these sections to complete them. In my case I think about the start and the ending, and also I have …
