I'm a neurotic mass of hair who loves drawing monsters! Right now I'm working on an adventure comic about dinosaurs.

I have a cute comic about baby dinosaurs (and a baby pterosaur) going on adventures in the jungle! …heads up that there’s also some mild gore and action, as not everything in a Cretaceous jungle is as cuddly as our protagonists. [image][image][image]

[image] Started Chapter Three of my comic! Here’s our two protagonists with big feelings.

Thanks! I spend a lot of time of each page.

Welcome! I’m excited to see your work, they both sound like fun ideas. Best of luck!

For me, I have a story I’m working towards that is personally meaningful, and I’m excited to share it — but I also like the escapism of making a comic. When I’m drawing jungles and caves for my critters to run around in, it feels like I’m exploring the wilderness myself. It’s a lot of fun to just ge…

Starting Chapter Three of Small Things! Here there be monsters. I have a site at www.smallthingscomic.com, which is the best place to read it, but it’s also on Tapas at https://m.tapas.io/series/Small-Things-Comic/info[image]

Okay, so this is a wild ride. Here are some of the earliest drawings of my characters. Still experimenting at this point. [image] [image] I then made a prototype comic in 2020. It’s still on Tapas under my short story collection here: https://m.tapas.io/episode/1989812 [image][image] The characters…

Monsters. All monsters, all the time. The weirder and less human the better. I love drawing animals too, but drawing monsters really allows me to have fun and play around. [image] [image] [image]

Your comic is amazing so far — love how vibrant and energetic the art is! Also the puppy is adorable 🥰 I know you’re already subscribed to me but I’ll drop my comic here for everyone else! It takes place in Cretaceous South America, so all the characters are dinosaurs (and a neurotic pterosaur, and…

I’ve got a new-ish comic that happens to feature a lot of dinosaurs, pterosaurs, and other weird Cretaceous critters. I don’t see a ton of comics like mine hanging around, but I’m curious — any other comics out there featuring animals, creatures, critters, aliens, mutant abominations, eldritch mons…

Just updated today! Here’s a sneak peak. [image]

I started my comic with the protagonist hatching from a buried egg. Does that count as waking up…? [image]

Ooh! Yes! 1. Venusaur, but I also love Arcanine, Gyarados, Nidoking, and Kangaskhan. Hard to pick a favourite from this gen. 2. Feraligatr.. or maybe Xatu? 3. Rayquaza (Kyogre is also great) 4. Torterra 5. Galvantula 6. Skiddo 7. Mimikyu 8. Corviknight 9. Grafaiai So many good critters.

My process is really similar to BoomerZ’s. I use Photoshop for colouring, but I’m sure most programs will let you do the same thing. 1. Use the lasso tool to select where you want to shade. If you already use flat colours it’ll be easy to select large areas. 2. Make a new layer and lower the opacit…

Gorgeous art, creative panel compositions, and richly detailed backgrounds galore: Updates randomly, but hey, pirates! Intriguing post-apocalyptic world and masterful art: A completed short fantasy story, told without a single word. Beautifully flowing compositions.

Small Things is an adventure comic about some small creatures exploring a big, hungry world. Inspired by Bambi and the Land Before Time. [image]

Walks and bike rides around the neighbourhood, or getting lost in a relaxing video game. My favourite relaxing games are in the Monster Hunter series — I don’t know how, but those games make a dogfight with a skyscraper-sized behemoth feel strangely serene.

Geez, sorry, I meant 86 episodes! That’s even more impressive!

No one deserves to be abused like that. You should be able to trust people and take them at their word. Anyone who breaks that trust is responsible for their actions; it is not in any way your fault. Happy to hear you’re continuing your craft. No one has a right to take that away from you. Keep wri…

Looking good. 86 pages is a lot of work. Congrats on sticking it out for a whole year!

Congrats on the launch! It takes a long time to get a following and comics are hard, so no pressure. I’ve made other comics before, but I recently returned from a hiatus with a brand new series. Hope we can all get a few more eyeballs on our work! [image]

[image] Comic attempt from… I’m not sure, somewhere between 2004-2006? Current comic! Also on Instagram as scribble.jay.

Just updated my new comic!

[image][image][image] From Gerolf Steiner’s “The Snouters: Form and Life of the Rhinogrades”. Speculative zoology is a playground of stupidly cursed images. [image][image] From Dougal Dixon’s “Man after Man”.

What a cool idea for a topic! It’s fun seeing how the initial seeds of an idea grew over time. I just posted a new comic inspired by a long, rainy drive. I was thinking about Bambi (the book). It follows Bambi as he grows older and slowly becomes more wise and more distant from the smaller woodland …
