Plan on selling them, if you want art to be your job, everything is for sale. And hopefully you make money off of one piece of traditional art in 5 different ways
If you do patreon, the orginal page is a great high tier reward. But again, that's part of selling it.
Awesome! eventually you'll get into a rythm, and you'll focus up real quick. I personally do 20 min intervals with 5 min breaks. Four 20 minute sessions is my personal pomodoro. Any longer and I zone out, you know draw the same line over and over.
I'd like to hear your results
Try out the pomodoro technique, keeps me on task and focused for the small amount of time I have dedicated to drawing. Without the pomodoro technique the hours I put into drawing would be unfocused and unproductive. The extra bit of structure it gives me is exactly what I needed to speed me up. G…
Part of it is deciding to start, the other part is to keep going. I use a combination of "don't break the chain" and the "pomodoro" techniques of time management. "Don't break the chain" keeps me going over the long term, and "pomodoro" keeps me focused at the drawing table. Along with some unswee…

Some panels from TITANOMACHY
Using mostly #2 yellow pencil, and a little black watercolor for the darkest parts. And toned in photoshop
Will sub later today that's the kind of stuff in looking for, can't wait to see how your technique evolves of the course of you publishing your comic
Totally subbed your stuff Daniboy! It meets a lot of the criteria I'm looking for even with inks And I'm looking at Zinnia
you have a few series up, which one is the penciled one? specifically the one from your preview pic? I'm learning that one of the keys to pencil art is the scanner... has to be good. I'm saving up for a better one, the one I have is alright for pencils, but I've used better. And I always use a p…
And Subbed! My search for penciled comics didn't turn up much on my own, I think "pencils" is not really a chosen keyword
I use a yellow #2 ticonderoga pencil for most of my comic drawing. I'm looking to sub to others who may use pencil as their media of choice. I do tone my pages in photoshop a little, and may make the leap to color eventually. This is a page from my comic and a sample panel: [image] I'm really lo…
the book stands/display case could still have some kind of Tapas markings though I'd totally use them.
Maybe a table grid display that is set up to hold 11x17 prints, but the clips that hold the prints are Tapas themed? Shipping would be the killer I think.
Edit: what about an 8 ft standee that…
Bookmarks! for sure People keep and use bookmarks over any other type of giveaway. Would also be great if they were double sided with one side featuring Tapas, and the other side featuring the artist.
The problems with large display type stuff would be how to make sure Tapas and the artist are di…
Also like to add, understanding the fundamentals of drawing will give you a natural sense of how things should flow on a page. Rythm, line, etc.... all those fundamentals will prepare you for this.
Understanding the fundamentals of design will totally make panel flow your bitch
So practicing g…
I looked at the page that you linked to... so far I think the composition needs improvement, for instance, the first episode with the dark haired girl holding the tablet, since that was an inset panel, it looked awkward, just make inset panels there own panels. Another thing that would have helped g…
If you are formatting for smartphones, and are using the scroll format, just focus on getting the reader to look down the page. And for any format, word balloons are a part of the composition, I use them to direct the reader as well. Use shadows as arrows pointing the reader to areas of emphasis.…
HAHAHA! No, I don't have a buffer, I had a 1 page buffer, used it within 2 weeks
That said, I would like to have a 1 page buffer. My plan is to level up my drawing speed. Which I think is working. What's been keeping me on task through a full time job and weeks of an ear infection/bronchitis for…
Start a patreon, draw your character, post as an exclusive early reward, get paid
What Gombik says, if you are on here you are procrastinating
So get back to work! Goes for all the lurkers as well
Original hate filled example aside, injecting your story with your own commentary is what makes the story unique. I'd argue that stories without the author's commentary are flat and boring. Other than that, it's up to the reader to put up with or discard the rants of an author outside of the story…
Thanks Danny! I think I've seen your personal site, looks like you have some good ideas for monetizing stuff on it. You have two Adrenaline shots series? the one shots thing could be the exclusive to patreon comic... From my own experience, I wouldn't have the time, at this point, to update two …
I'm just starting out with my webcomic, and I made a patreon for it. However the comic itself is still free, patrons get other exclusive stuff. I feel there is nothing wrong with at least setting up a patreon, for now, I'm not heavily advertising it, just have a link on forum signatures and stuff.…
Its in a mobile format, so posting a link to it
Aw, they like each other, 4/10, cuz that's a big animal
Just started my comic, and it does get into supernatural type stuff, not quite there yet Maybe the art direction fits with your tastes
