As an art student about to graduate with my BA, it's not uncommon to do scut work and things on the super cheap or even free as it provides exposure. For many artists, the art industry is often on the back burner while someone has a concrete job. Besides, I offered the art test. Not the OP.
I am very much interested in this if the position has not been filled.
Have you never done/heard of that before? It's an easy way to see a person's adaptability.
