I usually use many large panels, maybe another trick is to avoid the background to focus on the action

A friend of mine use an xp pen, a smaller version (I think about 15-inches), and it's super good, i have the huion 221 and i can't find many difference between the two tablets!

Color for me are cool, you can create super stuff, but I find that black and white palette can give you a lot more freedom to be conceptual play with cool light angles
