Don't give up so soon! I'll check your story out and see if I have time to enter! I love GL anyways Good luck!
Ah yes, the sun is shining, the birds are chirping. It's the perfect day to stay inside and watch Netflix.
Everyone, I've made a cabin so please post or pm me your NaNoWriMo usernames! You can join the Discord channel and send your username to me there as well if you'd like
Oh, that's true... I can see how it can be demotivating for some ppl. I still wanna see this insane amount of writing though lol! We can individually chat on discord
@yansusustories Wow, that's so impressive. I'm in awe right now! Please join the discord, I wanna hear your daily updates on how much you write! I'm sure that will be motivation for me like no other LOL
Right above haha It's also now linked to the original post
@KRWilliams That's such a great idea, I always end up spending either too little or too much time editing So I think having a specific goal to edit is smart haha
@Trevor Yeah, NaNoWriMo is exactly how @The_BVanD explained it to be. There's "camps" you sign up for, you can either get placed into "…
Yay, looks like a lot of people are interested! Here's the link to the discord everyone Let's smash this challenge, whatever your own personal goal is!
Would you be interested in doing this for a novel? I always love feedback, haha
Haha, it's basically Skype, except more aimed towards gamers
@Pan Writing any amount is great! I'll pm you my discord
@JBrentonParker Oh my goodness, that's amazing! November was my first one and it was so fun, somehow I managed to complete 50k but I thought I was gonna die LOL! Setting aside time to write and do something creative everyday was just such a great feeling and made me so happy, haha. Do you have disc…
Hi y'all, I was wondering if anyone would like to join me for Camp NaNoWriMo for the the month of April? If enough people want to do it, we can make a discord and cheer each other on!
You can set whatever word count as your goal and write anything you'd like, so don't worry about making it a huge …
In my fantasy novel, some of my characters say "Ravens", because commoners see them as a sign of bad luck. Some have a belief system or something akin to religion, which is similar to Heaven, Earth, and Hell. For instance, there's a moral code called The Twice Precepts of Pain, so I have them swe…
Weekend's are a sanctuary for me. Saturdays especially. Sometimes, I have to cram an assignment in the span of 24 hours on Sunday. But not on Saturdays. This particular Saturday, I just binged Netflix all day. Stand-up comedies and documentaries. Bo Burnham gave me a minor existential crisis. Ali…
Ah, Tumblr. I used to use it religiously. I've met so many of my online friends through there. Even ended up meeting quite a few of them irl. I tapered off my usage when Yahoo bought them and basically drove Tumblr to the ground. And with the whole NSFW ban fiasco, I've basically stopped using it. I…
Hrm, what a tough question. There's so many amazingly written, fictional characters! I suppose Atticus from To Kill A Mockingbird. The act of taking on an unwinnable case and fighting tooth and nail for equality, even when it was always guaranteed to fail, was just so damn moving. I admired his co…
I used to have the same problem as you. Then one day, I decided to try NaNoWriMo, because it was a goal I've always wanted to complete. I set my goal to 50k words for the month of November. Some days, it's really hard to want to write. But if you stare at a blank word page document for long enough, …
I'd love to see more fantasy series, there's definitely potential in the industry too after all the Game of Thrones hype. The Name of The Wind or I'm really liking Red Sister right now. Though maybe Prince of Thorns would be better since that's currently completed.
I really appreciate it when readers are curious what will happen next. Though it's kind of a double-edged sword, because idk how to respond to it without spoilers or just completely dodging it
Lofi hip-hop if I want something ambient, or rock if I wanna get pumped, haha.
Ah, thanks for the clarification. I completely agree about the cringy Japanese words though, they completely break my immersion!
@kainatarma Oh no, "an anime-inspired fantasy world that is clearly taken from medieval Europe"? That completely described my story word for word
I'm so sorry I'm a weeb, I swear I don't use random Japanese words in them though.
Oh my god, all of these! Even though, I probably have done some myself
I despise when it starts off with a character that is just so quirky and weird. No one understands them, yet everyone is completely beneath them. Ugh, I just wanna rip my eyeballs out whenever I see this. Jughead from River…
Can't wait to see it! ️
@Moiraine Oh she looks cool, I'm gonna check out your novel
@TheFireDragon The opening was creative and I liked how we got to see their dynamics, (ie: the narrator thinking he wrote the books for her, but it was his misplaced savior complex and delusional thinking). Most of the ideas in this story are pretty intriguing and imaginative as well. I like how e…
Oh, you're absolutely right @ratscout! Please don't be fixated on the score @kainatarma! I didn't mean it to be a C, I think anything above 5 is above average. So I can see why scoring is a bad system, it's very subjective. I definitely rate a lot of books and shows I liked with a 7/10, simply becau…

Wow, this is so great of you! I really admire that you're doing this to better your writing skills
For #2, I definitely recommend St. Vincent's self titled album. Not sure how great it is to write to, since I personally listen to ambient rock or more fantasy-esque instrumentals when I write. But I love her music and just wanna recommend it in general!
