Number 5 with a quick one value shading

Apologies for the unprompted feedback.

I couldn't help but notice your shading didn't match the planes of the face. I wasn't sure what direction your light was actually intended to come from so I made these two different examples. A few things to keep in mind is that eye ball are spherical and will catch light even if surrounded by shadow. A 2nd thing is the lips, they way they sit on the face, the upper lip will generally be bast in shadow, while the underlip will catch light (if the light source is positioned above the character.)

Another thing I like to play with it how the nose also cast a shadow on the face. You can create this little triangle of light (in the style of Rembrandt) on the opposite side of the face.

no need to be sorry but your versions don´t look like the shading in the reference picture and like I wrote
it´s a quick 2 value shading which matches the reference

I´m doing 5 minutes quick sketches from today on. Portrait practice later and some
theory. Probably more butt muscle stuff.

Portrait practice number 7
I´m trying to finish portrait practice and figure drawing until
lunch time, then I make one short theory lesson and switch
to traditional drawing

and I did a quick shading test because I´m not patient and
want to finish portraits

Construction to shading.
I skipped 2 steps between the construction and the
shading

I drew what Texas looks like in Chili's art style. allegedly this is a drawing of her in his sketchbook

I was drawing the whole time but didn´t train, I´m back at the drawing training today.
I had a little accident at the airport, missed my flight and everything and that kind
of threw me off and I couldn´t focus on theory or practice.

I´m redoing the hair of test page right now. I´m trying to draw it more like
3d shaped sausages and this works better

the man's hair reminds me of my character Chili's pompadour

Female torso + figure drawing quick tip study

Today´s studies. Took me way too long to do this, I did some figure sketching before,
and copied some figure drawing mannequins. I´m not sure if I will burn myself out
or will be super motivated when I pull this through

I forgot what that muscle is called, probably trapezius
