I'm 26, and I'm from the Midwest, smack dab in the center of the U.S. in Nebraska. Born here, still here, and I like it here for the most part.
Graduated from college almost 5 years ago (spring 2013). Been producing my comic ever since then, but writing began in 2011. I've had a few art jobs (mobile game studio, graphic designer, contractor for a toy company) but none of them have been stable or long lasting, unfortunately. The longest any of those lasted was a year, and that's being generous. Got laid off from all of them.
I'm trying really hard to make my comic sustainable financially because of how unstable the art industry can be. Might as well be making my own IPs a reality if working at a studio is just as unreliable, right? My far off goal is to make it successful enough so that I can expand my studio and employ other creators to give them an opportunity at stability that I didn't have.
It's so difficult, though. I don't know if I'll make it but man I'm going to do everything in my power to do it.
