Heya, right now, I ask that you have a reference of your character. The novels are pretty recent to Tapas for me and I haven't thought of how we can integrate them into the secret santa. So for now, it's drawing-related only. But whether you do or do not participate, you can fill out the secret santa survey after the event to help with future ideas for the next year.

(The reference doesn't have to be "good," just enough for the person to have an idea of what to draw. But for this year, you'll also have to draw someone else's character.)

The Secret Santa was first meant to be an 'exercise' for artists, giving us a challenge of having to create someone else's OC whilst also having a friendly 'get-together'

Well I guess I could see if I can get my character out of my head and onto paper then... XD

One other thing then would be if I was to draw someone's character, I do mostly cartoon style drawings... there's not a district style or skill needed is there?

Of course not. You can do any style you want. I know how to do both anime style and western style, you could do a more realistic style if you wanted. Just make sure to sign up through the form.

This is purely for fun and for practice, that's what I made it for from the beginning.

Heya! Thanks for asking! For JUST this year, it's going to be for drawing only. Novelists and comic artists can both join but only for drawing. Novels are very new to Tapas and new for me. I've been with Tapastic since way back. They Secret Santa was originally meant for artists and I just haven't been able to adapt it to the new comics and novels system yet.

I definitely plan to include a writer-friendly secret santa next year, just this year is for people who are willing to draw their characters and their presents. Sorry about that~
