OI HI again.

I decided to make up some questions you comic creators can or would like to answer. There are freaking tons so be prepared. It's like a big interview holy crap.

This has been a trend / meme back in deviantart /other social media where "tagging" people to answer fun questions.

However if you are a novelist/writer you can alternate the questions relating to writing/novels instead of comics/art if you want, so long as you answer the question similarly.

Enjoy. Take your time.

You don't have to answer everything exactly if you don't want to. AND you don't have to answer these questions, it's optional so please don't tell me there are introduction threads out there (my questions are more specific and a little more fun I guess) or telling me to gof ind answers in other threads. I am really fine if you don't wanna answer. :peace:

Feel free to do whatever you want as long as you answer the questions in a similar way. Like I said you can alter the questions in relation to writing or art. You may answer separately if you want.

Tapas news comic? I am mainly doing this because I would like to know about you people  but you gave me an idea, I might publish something of compilation of interviews with these hehe.

despite my username here being punkarsenic, i never like go by that lmao. i picked it on a whim when i was 14. my names aislinn, or ash

lesbian, lol, 19, taken

tapas. its where i started and i dont wanna adapt my page sizes to webtoons format

clip studio paint first and foremost, but i also make short comics using various printmaking methods (linocut, cyanotype, im working on smth that might be drypoint or monoprint)

also, huion h610 pro tablet and lenovo legion laptop

kinda mixed! my main comic is usually in page format, but very much formatted with vertical scroll in mind and it flips into vertical scroll a lot more these days for special parts

i think generally i prefer page layout though

oooohhhh... i feel like basically i havent found my favourite comic yet. so ill name a few tapas comics i really love:

i have a lot of love in my heart for lynd ward

i also owe a lot to adrian alphona

hmmm... im on a horror kick right now. but generally, probably fantasy?

i dunno! it was a series of inspirations - first seeing an older kid draw manga in primary school, poring over manga as a kid. marvel comics as a teen was a big inspiration, but i didnt really realise i could make comics until i found tapas at 14

i also realised i could make comics bc of adrian alphona's art in ms marvel v1 - before that id only really seen tight, shiny house style comics that i knew i couldnt make. alphonas sketchy, slightly gawky lines showed me that i could make comics my way

europe!

in school? there werent many achievements to get in school... so, nothing really

i came fifth in the international poetry slam once. that was cool.

yea

im in my second year of an art diploma - which is kinda like being a highschool senior, but at a technical school where i only study art. next year im studying comics at teesside university!!

hahaha i am earning SQUAT. but i hope to make this a career one day

i want to have a Physical Book i can sell, and i wanna have a practice in teaching comics

oh like forever, but i struggled against it for a good few years. it wasnt until i found out abt teesside university when i was 17 that i realised i Could Do This As A Thing and decided to focus on energy and attention on comics

art: gestural, heavy blacks, limited palettes, expressive

writing: im still struggling with describing my writing style? im not really sure what the consistent features of my writing are

i do it all in my room! i have two desks made from planks screwed to shelves - one for my laptop, the other for my sketchbook(s). i have a second monitor bolted to the wall for references and movies while im working.

introvert

i like cycling and swimming! im also really into film

always need improvement

uh. myself? i think

both :stuck_out_tongue:

gobby, hot headed, i use big words without realising. people say im scary, but im 5'6

I get your point, but most friends in other social media do these memes for fun anyways. Together. But eh there are many kinds of friends. I remember my friend being tagged by a lot of friends to answer silly and fun questions. I understand this forum being "different" then but I am making this kind of more interesting and fun? Yeah sorry for being overwhelming.

This one I am doing isn't even that very fun, it's far more of knowing yourself as a comic creator and getting to know some at least fun facts about yourself.

haven't because I ain't a comic creator myself yet. I am more of an observer and kind of like interacting more than letting people know who I am ironically.

Sharing my thoughts and opinions and helping people anonymously is what matters most to me.

I don't know why I'm doing this, probably just for fun, so don't trust too much to my words (or trust, who knows)

Name/s you go by (username is fine)

SilentHamster102

Your sexuality, gender, age , status (single, married, in a relationship, etc)

Male, 24, single

Webtoons or Tapastic or Both? Why?

Tapastic. First place on the web where my ass didn’t get kicked out (except imageboards) and I’m grateful for that.

What are the art programs you use/equipment you use to do your comics?

ClipStudio, PaintToolSAI, Wacom tablet.

When you post your comics online do you prefer vertical panelling or the tradional single page pannelling? Why?

Vertical, just for lulz, idk.

Favorite comics?

XIII. I'm mostly into movies.

Favorite artists, writers, comic creators?

Writers – Dostoevsky, McBain, Mironov.
Artists – idk, can’t pick one.
I’m mostly into movies anyway.

Favorite genre of comics?

Action, detective, crime, military, drama (applies to all media)

What or who inspired you to do comics?

I don’t know, just having fun. And just like to drawing for my whole life.

Continent you're in?

Eurasia. Europe part of it, but not so far from Asia

State any achievement you have from school that you have been awarded/ recogized for.

Won County Tournament on the History and Social Science (two different tournaments). Should have been took part in Region’s Tournament, but victory was stolen by well-connected motherfuckers from well-connected school.

State anything that what you have called an "achievement" in your life.

I have two cars and a shotgun (gun laws are strict and overall this stuff is expensive for lowlife like me)

Do your family members (especially parents) know that you're doing comics or you publish these online?

No.

In what kind/level of school are you in? (art, engineering, etc)

Law, magistrate

Are you earning for a living when doing your comics, is this a full time job? Or is this just a side hobby you have?

Hobby.

State any dreams/goals that you want to reach.

Join in the military and became a honored combat veteran. Or immigrate to Mexico. Or to Serbia. Or join the police and became a honest cop (if you live in Russia you know how absurd it’s sounds). Or maybe found my love. Or maybe became KIA during military service. Maybe all of it. Or maybe nothing. I’m joking, but who knows where is a truth and where is a joke after all

Since when did you want to do comics?

Since 18. And started to make them same year.

Desrcribe your art style/writing style.

Inexperienced.

Describe your workplace where you do all your comics/works. Otherwise provide a picture of it if you want to.

My room. My table. My rules.

Introvert, extrovert or in the middle?

Introvert. Even when I'm drunk.

State your hobbies aside from creating comics/ doing art/ writing.

Gaming, shooting things, fixing things, drinking, reading books, learning history (especially war history)

Do you think do you still need improvement on what you're doing or are you satisfied with it?

I need improvement.

Are you inclined to pleasing yourself or everyone or both? Explain. You can cite your experiences too.

I’m pleasing myself. Because nobody else going to do it. If you’re not pleasing yourself, nobody will please you. I’m on first part of that sentence, and I’m fine.

Online friends or real life friends or both?

Both. But more focus on IRL, because of lacking this in my past years.

Describe your personality in real life and online.

RL – Quiet, shy, calm. But more open to the friends. It’s hard to make me visible angry (internally I’m full of anger, just not showing it), but if you do, then you hardly can stop me. Asshole (because I can’t even imagine why life is so unfair to me, except that fact that I’m an asshole and this is just punishment for being this) but others saying that I’m kind, who knows. Almost invisible. Know many jokes, and like tell them to my friends.

Web. – Quiet, calm. Don’t mess with me and we’re fine. By saying “don’t mess”, I mean, don’t insult me or provoke. If you do, then I'll strike back and I don't care about the rules. But almost all my online communicating is limited to imageboards, probably except this forum and social network (I don’t use real name there, though, and never will use, because I don’t want to make full dossier on me all by myself, let’s cops or special services do this instead of me, they’re getting paid for it, after all).

I don't know why I wrote all this. Nobody cares anyway. Probably because I always wanted to be interviewed one day. But I'm a... let's say "far from success" (there was a bit more strong words before editing), so I know it's never going to be happen :slight_frown:

eh well I like answering questions soooo.....

Name: well I tend to keep my real name private so I just go by ghostieblu on all platforms

Sexuality: don't really feel like answering that one
Gender: female
Age: 15
Status: no

Webtoons or Tapas: definitely tapas, I hate the requirements that are needed to upload on webtoon when it comes to the files and most of the audience all has similar taste, so only comics within a certain niche or genre have a chance in getting big from what I've seen

Art programs: an app on my phone called art studio

Vertical or Traditional: I do both depending on how important certain panels are

Favorite comics: I don't really like picking favorites and the only ones I read are on tapas, but if you were to ever look at my library here you'd see that I have quite a few that I like

Favorite artists/writers/creators: I... don't have any. I'm not really that type of person

Favorite genre: I like fantasy, adventure and horror sometimes

Inspiration: I never really like answering this question because one might say my past inspirations were... I dunno, amateurish? but when I was a looot younger I got inspired to start making stories/ comic ideas that involved animals at the time by a series of books called warrior cats, and a while before I started my current comic Mirror Monster I took a bit of inspiration from undertale, cucumber quest and some other stuff that I can't remember for certain aspects of it

Continent: murica

School achievements: literally none

What I consider an achievement: well I managed to continue working on Mirror Monster for nearly 2 years I think (or was it 3? idek) and I've gotten a small following from it, which is nice

Do my family members know about my comic: yeah, all of my close family does. my mom and step dad follow it the most and they're really into it I guess, everyone else thinks it's cool too

Level of school: I'm not even out of high school yet

Do I earn money from my comic: nope, I can't and I just do it for fun

Dreams/goals: my real goal would to have Mirror Monster develop its own fandom over time outside of the platform it's being uploaded on, to have my characters be recognizable, and to turn it into an animated series or several movies and then start working on the idea of a prequel game to it that I've been wanting to do when it's over. yeah, I know everything's related to the comic itself, it's just my main passion, aka my baby

Since when did I want to do comics: probably since 3rd grade. that's around when I started making art and characters, and I always imagined the stories they were involved in but hardly ever put it into actual comics until around 7th

My art style: I can't really attach files right now but I'll just put it into words for now.. I usually use slightly dull/desaturated colors, I use thin, clean lines and thicker outlines, my art style is kinda cartoonish I guess but with some realistic anatomy. (SOME). and I usually give eyes small, elongated pupils. I also use a mix of round and sharp lines for things such as hair, noses, faces etc. oh and my shading/coloring is pretty much solid cell shading

Workplace: I work on my phone, so pretty much anywhere if I have nothing else to do. otherwise if I'm at home I'm either at a desk or on my bed while watching youtube videos on my computer

Introvert, extrovert or inbetween: I am extremely introverted. I have no friends and a few uh... diagnosed mental health issues (such as social anxiety and high functioning autism) that can prevent me from having some normal social interactions with people, usually of my own age. it sucks

Hobbies aside from art: I don't really know if it's a hobby but um, I play the flute

Do I think I still need to improve: definitely. I'm honestly more satisfied with my art than ever but I still think there's a number of things that I want to get better at in order to have the style that I truly want

Am I inclined to please myself, everyone or both: I think both, I want to come off the best I can to others while also being okay with myself. (which I'm not most of the time, but I want to be)

Online friends, irl friends or both: online friends, I have a small number of them. people irl don't really have the patience to deal with someone like me and I'm too anxious to initiate any of the... social stuff. I also find it hard to relate to people in person, and I'm very, very self conscious

Personality:

irl- a complete mess tbh. I've managed to restrain myself from being my true self (and I don't even know what that is) so I've gone by the rule of don't talk unless you're spoken to. and yeah depending on who I'm around it can be harder with some people rather than others. but if I'm around people I trust such as family I guess I can either be kind of edgy and sad, or kiiinda funny I guess? I don't really have a personality though

online: honestly I don't know, I guess that's for others to decide. I feel like I'm the one person who can unintentionally ruin all the fun

and lastly, I don't really care for pewdiepie so

1. Name/s you go by (username is fine) Crystal, more so

2. Your sexuality, gender, age , status (single, married, in a relationship, etc) ok first question... why do you really need to know my Sexuality, it shouldnt really matter.

I'm 24 year old woman, never dated a day in my life (no one likes me)

3. Webtoons or Tapastic or Both? Why? neither, Webtoons hates my comic format and Tapas is quickly getting on my bad side

4. What are the art programs you use/equipment you use to do your comics? Clip Studio Paint EX, Cintiq 13HD, Eventually an iPad (if i want to pay for a $100 dollar pen for it...)

5. When you post your comics online do you prefer vertical panelling or the tradional single page pannelling? Why? cant explain, i have 2 comics that are both Traditional and Vertical, i tend to favour the traditional

6. Favorite comics? thats really hard actually cause i nolonger really pick favourites anymore

7. Favorite artists, writers, comic creators? again, refer to answer 6

8. Favorite genre of comics? answer 6 (but i'm not really into very droning comics that take forever to pick up)

9. What or who inspired you to do comics? the many cartoons i watched as a child

10. Continent you're in? can't i just say i'm Canadian, the whole "whats your continent" kinda makes no sense

11. State any achievement you have from school that you have been awarded/ recogized for. Nothing

Shy one, with resting bitch face. I have a very slight idea on how to communicate with people and sustain a conversation, so won't talk if absolutely shouldn't. My online persona is more chatty, because it is originally cute and a "good cop" administrator for many anime role playing forums.

Online I have definitely spoken more openly and opinionated, but it's created some awkward situations so I have since reevaluated the way I approach the way I talk online. I'm usually pretty easy going and generally passive, but if several stupid things happen in a short period of time, I will scream and everyone in the world will hear it. Few people have seen this side of me.
