Super interesting and a lot of helpful advice. Thanks for sharing
As many new comic artists, I know that promoting yourself is important, but it's not always easy to see how to do it. I don't have business experience nor do I know anything about marketing. I'd rather just draw and hope for the best, because promoting yourself is hard and takes a lot of time
Articles like this help, because they fill the term "promote yourself" with actual things to do. Some advice really hit home for me. I wish I had read an article like this before starting my comic. (For example I knew after the first year that calling my comic "The Machinist" was a stupid idea due to the popular movie with the same name, but now I am stuck with it).
If you come into the webcomic business without professional background the work process of promoting yourself just seems overwhelming. All the time you need to put into it detracts from the thing you really want to do (which is drawing, I would assume). This article is very comprehensible and I am glad you shared it. Still will be tough for me to implement all the tips, but it's good to have this good of a reminder
