Hey there! So I've been active on the forums for a few weeks now, and, I've been trying my best to interact and I'm enjoying the atmosphere~
But I realised tonight I haven't formally introduced myself soo.. Here we go!
Hi, I'm Lin, I'm a writer, currently I have two stories on tapas, both novels, though I would like to venture into comics collaboratively one day~ I cant say I'm the most confident person when it comes to my art, but I try to make it as good as I can, and I try not to let the imposter syndrome and depression stop me from telling my stories!
I've been a creative person for years, gaining qualifications in games and media design through my education, and I dream of writing many stories to come in lots of different mediums, personally my long term career goal is somehow breaking into the comics industry as a writer, either on tapas or another online site, or through a publishing house, that'd be a dream come true for me
The two novels I write are Spectrum and Quest to the silver city! (the exclamation point is part of the title).
Spectrum is the story of a closeted transgender woman who gains the ability to transform at will into a powerful super heroine alter ego and idealised vision of herself known as the spectrum, she is pushed into combat with London supernatural threats despite her inexperience. Spectrum is a passion project for me, written to be a transgender power fantasy while also addressing the issues and fears of transgender life, while also giving a diverse and action packed super hero story.
Quest to the silver city! is a fantasy comedy adventure sort of affair, more episodic in its arrangements, it is the story of an unlikely band of adventurers as they travel the land in search of an ancient lost dwarven city of silver. This story is a bit of an experiment but I'm no less excited to share it, I'm not used to writing fantasy or comedy, but I cant deny the adventure zone podcast really got me in the mood to write this one.
i try to update Spectrum weekly on Sundays, and Quest to the silver city! on Wednesdays, also weekly when I can manage
i have many more stories I would love to tell, from polyamorous supernatural sketch stories inspired by the Adams family to dark winding murder mysteries of mental health and elder gods, id love to tell them in novels, in comics, and more!
so yes, thats my introduction, a bit long but it gathers the details nicely. you can find my stories below, I hope you enjoy them, and i'd love to hear your honest feedback, I always want to improve.
oh, P.S, the artist who does my thumbnails is know as D4gm4rs, you can find her on tumblr and twitter, very talented artist.
Thanks for reading! - Lin
