so i'll ask a question:

Are there any characters you regret writing into your story? or that you think were a waste of time and energy?

Nope! Each and every character that appears will contribute something to the story.

I got 9 likes yesterday, figured I'd add more to my long list of facts

1. I actually drew a Chocobo (Final Fansy X) into a panel in the Pestilence arc as a joke. It looks closer to a chicken, though in my style.
2. I cannot draw wings very well, though they look better than they did when I first started. Instead of realism, I draw them sort of robe-like, with the last few feathers acting as fingers, unless they are in flight/fight mode, where all feathers are spread.
   
3. There are no set rules on how a chicken can hold/carry something. Sometimes they use their feet, but often they'll use their wings.
4. Lots of props and background items are made from things from the human world (boxes, cans, etc) Chickens are foragers, so it makes sense that they repurpose things/trash that humans left in/around the coop.
5. I originally intended for the coop to represent a medieval hamlet...or chicklet, but I've been oversimplifying the bg/props for easier drawing. I might gradually build up the coop in fun ways to represent a town (stalls, tavern, etc)
6. The House of White functions as a church, monastery and--brothel...Oh, and hospital.
7. Drawing the office scene in the Tryons arc was incredably boring, which reflects the mundane-ness of the worplace, unintentionally.
8. Bress is not related to Friar as they are two different species(she's a Bresse, he's a Leghorn), but he considers her a "sister", in the nunnery sort of way.
9. "The Blind Owls" is taking me longer than I anticipated to get out, but I'm projecting it'll reach it's conclusion late March/Early April...Might try to rush uploads if I'm too anxious...We'll see...

1. tho Mrs.Moon treats both Kattar and Alicia like her kids, and loves them equally, she babies Kattar a lot more than Alicia. And he's older than her!
2. Kattar's birthday is in march, but I refuse to make it March 20th.
3. His birthday is March 21st, because 'march comes in like a lion."
4. Alicia's birthday is in October, and the fact that she used to have birthday parties and Mickey Dees is inspired by how my abuela threw b-day parties for my dad
5. Mrs. Moon is unusually tall 5'7, not including the heels she usually wears, despite being a Hispanic woman
6. Melissa Xochitl is not Mexican, despite her name. She's Ashkenazi Jewish, by ethnicity, but not religion

1. like his big sister, Andrew doesn't like coffee either. But he mostly just drinks milk and juice, no tea either.
2. Jinho and Andrew are both immigrants to Mexico, and trilingual.
3. Jinho is probably my most kuudere character in any story I have written so far
4. Andrew is probably the most obliviously loving character I've written so far. but both of them stay in a fairly realistic realm, I think, because of the genre

1. Kattar has never bought Alicia any typically romantic present. Chocolate, flowers etc. Well technically he bought her jewelry, but that was specifically for her award ceremony
2. I came up with Alicia's taste in music on a whim when writing the fourth chapter and it just stuck
3. despite Alicia thinking she's been single for "so long," she's the exact same age Mrs. Moon was when she had Kattar. So conceivably if she has a kid before her birthday in October, she'll be right on schedule. But that would be impossible as it's already March 2024 in her world.
4. Kattar has never met or even seen a picture of his father.

1. While I often like basing people's names off of specific meanings, I didn't thing very hard about any of the character names in "Damsel in the Red Dress" I just gave most of them normal sounding names, and last names to fit their culture. Mrs. Moon's name seems accidentally surprisingly fitting however, because it gives the impression of something very powerful and stately, imao.

1. my favorite character interactions to write in their respective stories are interactions between Kattar and Alicia in "Damsel in the Red Dress" and interactions between Jimin and Jinwoo Lee in "Hushabye Prince."

1. I love writing Alicia and Kattar teasing and flirting with each other. It's spicy but wholesome at the same time
2. I think Kattar's looks keep shifting slightly when I visualize him, which reminds me how many different types of faces can fit a basic description lol
3. Surprisingly Kattar and Alicia are NOT the largest height gap I've ever written for a couple. I have one (currently unreleased) couple with a 13 inch height gap. And another female character with a crush on a guy approximately twice her height.
4. I set lots of my stories in Maryland just because I lived there for so long, so I have a stronger gist of it than I have with any other place but the Dominican Republic. I will probably set a novel here someday too, but I already have a short story written (and published) set here.

One like today so i'll answer one of my own questions:

If I could get one person's advice on writing a story, i'd probably ask Charles Dickens' advice on how to describe characters well

I got 6 more likes by the end of the day so

1. My writing about the international mail system was based on my experiences in the Dominican Republic and my auntie's experience in ghana.
2. I don't know a lot about cars and I can't drive, so writing the first scene was difficult lol
3. I enjoy describing Kattar's facial expressions way too much
4. I wasn't really clear on what my FL looked like when I started writing the story, and she just built up over time
5. I like writing very short or very tall characters for some reason
6. My favorite Chapter titles are "White Hole" "Black Bile" and "Sanguine Thread."

1. Half the reason Alicia wears ugly clothes is probably just because it bothers Kattar
2. Alicia actually likes being tiny, it makes her feel cute and snuggly
3. Kattar isn't as tall as you'd expect given that his mom is pretty dang tall for a woman
4. being short doesn't actually run in Alicia's family, every member of her family including her mom and grandmother were/are taller than her
5. Despite always being described as beautiful and glamorous, Mrs. Moon looks older than you might imagine (because they aren't mutually exclusive) she doesn't have wrinkles or gray hair, but you can still tell by her face that she's nearing 60.
6. Alicia's mother was only 18 when she got married and had Alicia, so she was only 35 when she died
7. Kattar doesn't know his own mother's age
8. Kattar sometimes has a hard time remembering his own age, (thank you medication.)
