A question about Love

So I'm constructing a story that follows a married couple dealing with unique struggles from being together for so long. I've come up with a few opening lines of narration from the main character, but I'm wondering which hits home more.

I want your opinion on which quote you feel is more astute vs. which you think is more cliche. I'm especially curious how anyone who's been in a long-term relationship or marriage feels about these quotes.

To start, you can give each quote a general rating from 1 to 10, one being cliche or bland and ten being unique or astute. From there, you can let me know which one you agree with or relate to more. And if you have any antidotes to go along, that would be fun too.

"Love is a feeling that comes and goes, but a marriage lives in every moment."

"Love isn't the honeymoon; it's everything that comes after and the choice to keep it going."

"Love lives and dies by the day, so we have to choose how often to bring it back to life."

Aww, I like the second and third phrases. But I think the third one is the strongest. When it comes to long-lasting love, I think of my parents, as well as some other married couples I've seen and their relationships, as the perfect template for this. I think that definition describes it well ^w^

And the third phrase might fit even better, as there is no marriage statement per se, because long-term relationships do not always mean marriage, but tend to face the same difficulties as married couples

I like the second quote, cause I don’t really feel like love is something that comes and goes so much like the other quotes suggest. It’s more like at the base of everything, and sometimes it might get clouded by other feelings but it’s always there. At least that’s how I feel in my marriage, 12 years and going strong

I've been with my partner for ten years, and quote 2 is the one that rings true for me.

The bit where you first fall in love with somebody and think they're really sexy and go on all these fun dates is exciting, but a functional long-term relationship takes communication, and you have to like being around that person even when you're just doing boring stuff like cleaning or doing admin, and you have to be with them when they're sad or ill and still love them and feel like there's nobody you'd rather scrub the bathroom or sit and watch netflix with. You need to be able to honestly tell them when they're making a bad decision or being unreasonable and still feel confident that you love each other and you're on the same team. It takes work, but it's worth it!

I would love to read a story like that, for my part I would choose the second quote. It's realistic and I think it would be more in line with what a stable relationship means.

I don't really like the "honeymoon" word, but the quote is most close to the heart for me and very true indeed. I am in a 12 years partnership
Also I do not quite understand the first one, "the marriage lives in every moment" sounds a bit weird to me, not exactly sure why

hmnnn IDK about everyone but love isn't something I say or take lightly. It's a full blown commitment when I say "I love you." There are highs lows and a whole lot of testing that happens in relationships that go the long haul (Going on 10 years with mind and still madly in love with my darlin), but in order for it to truly last (even when mad at each other) the love HAS to be there always. Being mad or disappointed in your partner doesn't mean falling out of love in my books, so not sure that's the message you want to hedge on for a story that will ultimately be about the strength of these folks love for each other... Well that is if they decide to stay together in the end, If they don't then these quotes fall more align with that (Save for 2, that's a romantic one that I'm drawn to more), but as @Kelheor said, not sure if honeymoon is the word I'd use to start that one with.

And since I said that I'd feel some kind of way if I didn't throw in some kinda input shoop-da-whoop: "Trials of the heart." or "years after we said I do," "The strength of our marriage was tested years after I do." "We meant forever when we said I do, but..." "For Better or For Worse," "Time tests all." "Weathering the storms of the heart."

I think 2 is the one that has your strongest message though
