I've been doing a bit of research into Amazon's publishing options and while there's a good amount of info on site and abroad Im mostly curious about costs.

by the looks of it digital publishing has zero cost, but I've always believed its worth doing a little digging and checking any fine print

So to keep it short, for those who may have published with Amazon (KDP, Createspace, or others) what did pricing look like? Any hidden fees to look out for? and was the general experience okay?

I've used CreateSpace to sell and order copies of one of my comics! I think it's very fair, I sell the 127 paged books for $15 and can order copies for myself at a little less than $3 each (last time I ordered them) to sell at cons and such. The only fees are really just processing ones when you do make a sale as with any site where you can sell your own work, I can't recall the exact percentage, but it's not enough that I feel gouged. So I can't imagine it's much different for strictly e-publishing.

I really like it because you can order so many proof copies and edit your document an unlimited amount of times, you just have to pay for the proof copies and their shipping, which again run for fairly little.

Haven't had experience with epub yet, but I might look into it when my novel's done.

From my experience browsing CreateSpace it looks like it's entirely free until a sale is made, in which case Amazon will take a % and taxes. I don't remember the fine details, but I don't recall it being a huge hike like 20%. I'm sure it's somewhere in the fine print...

I tried the Amazon one. It's ok. I took mine down because I wanted to Animate it as a cartoon. Just need to draw the characters, backgrounds and animate it. Anyway Amazon gets a small amount of money for selling your product. Idk, what though cuz it's been years since I last used it.
