I've noticed an array of speech here in the forums. Everyone keeps it pretty tame, which is nice, and we all end up having interesting discussions. Thanks for 3 years of that, btw! You all are great. :}

I noticed there isn't much cussing. So, I've been trying to couch my words here. However, there was a Promotions topic of posting "2 lines of dialogue from your story." I thought it'd be fun to post an image from my comic of two characters interacting that got a positive reaction to the humor when it was released. But the joke has two curse words in it... and since it's in an image, it'd be subjecting everyone to the profanities being used--idk if people are able to censor words in the forums or not. xD I decided not to post it on there... though I'd like to. lol

But what is your opinion of that here in the forums? And I mean cuss words above the expletive level of saying "hell." lol

(Personally, I don't care much. But I'm also over 18... so that may not be the case for everyone.)

You are allowed to cuss, I think most users just don't. The only rule is not to have it be erotica or anything too sexual because there are some users under 18 who use the forums.

Personally don't care or get offended by it. But I also understand it makes you look less "professional".

I censor my dialog anyway (for the under 18 crowd) as a force of habit, and try to steer clear of harsher words on the forums for the same reason. :slight_smile:

This is the Internet motherfucker! I fucking cuss all the time on my shitty fucking webcomic. Fucking post it already!

I cuss a good bit, but I do not like to do so on the forums. This place is quiet enough as it is, and I think cussing muddies it just a little bit. I think there are times where cussing is totally the right play, but is just is not generally my thing.

I think it´s better to keep the tone on a polite level because sooner or later the
discussions will not be as civil as they are right now

You have a great point there. :sweat: I think the written word on the internet (aka people typing responses online) can get misconstrued in a group of a lot of people. Like nuance and sarcasm can get lost a lot of the time, so I think you're right in trying to keep it at that neutral tone for the most part. lol

Yeah. I can agree with that. Probably for the best here to keep things straightforward. That's why I don't think I'll post that, because I didn't see anyone else posting dialogue with cussing in it. xD I don't wanna stand out in a bad way. lol

@skidiggy Honestly, good policy. :} I think I will follow suit.

I do use profanity, it just depends on the mood I'm in...for the most part when I'm talking in the forums I'm mainly trying to get the point of my thoughts conveyed so I'll refrain from using profanity if it isnt necessary- but if I feel a way about a thing and it can't be helped, I'll go on an occasional profanity laced tirade.
