About Mature Contents. A question about what you should and shouldn't put on Tapas

Hello. So like the title said, I want to know what is considered 'allowed' and not on Tapas, both in novels and comics.

Let me start by saying yes, I read the guidelines (several times, actually...), but I have a difficulties with understanding what is ok and what is not okay at all (maybe some if it is because of my understanding on English, but...). I just have the difficulties in that area, so I often worrying if my stories are allowed on the sites a lot.

So if there's an example about mature stuff such as gory or sex scenes on tapas (both comic and novel) that you think might get in touch with the 'report button' but its still acceptable, I would like to see it. (Sorry, if this topic is confusing, I'm not even a genuine English speaker, so forgive my grammar)

i see gory stuff all the time on here with the mature filter on here. theres a popular horror artist whos drew everything with the mature filter on. rape, sex, nudity, gore, murder you name it they drew it and posted it to tapas. if tapas allows that then your ok long as you dont make any porn i guess....

On wattpad, you are allowed to write sex scene (porn...) as long as it's privated and has plot, meaning not only a bang bang story, but involving character development and stuff. What I want to know is if we were to make some detailed sex scene or gore (with genital got censored of course), with a well developed story (comic or novel), will it be acceptable?

I would really like to see the example, thought.

as far as I understand, violence, sex, nudity, and the like are allowed as long as they're plot-necessary. you can't just post sex or violence purely for the sake of doing so, hence the lack of pure pornography and gore on the site.

however, say your comic involves people getting choked to death (as the recently featured Shiloh did) or characters having sex (as the ever popular Griefer Belt does), that's okay because the scenes are not meant to """titillate""" (as I believe the guidelines put it) but instead drive the plot forward. all you need is a mature content warning to keep the kiddos away

Here is a link to the content guidelines, you can check the "content boundaries" part to see exactly what is and it isn`t appropiate and what needs the mature tag.(because the specific pages with mature content are the ones that need to be marked as mature)

It can't be porn for the sake of fap material.
And NO close-up shots of detailed genitalia aroused/erect with fluids or penetration.

As for gore, I guess it just can't be too visceral and detailed.

Ok, thanks for the comic, now I get the better understanding about the sex scene on comic (basically it us ok to put a really explicit sex if the d and v and a is censored...??? [That was my understanding anyway ]) since its not flagged down after been there from 2017, so I guess your comic is deemed acceptable.

Now I just need some example for gore in comic and novel plus sex scene in novel too (idk why but I just couldn't find it).

As for gore? that is an area Im not sure about, what you could do is send a page(one uncensored and one with censored bits what you deem is not worthy for a family viewing) you have made to the content managers at tapas to check what should be hidden if it is against the TOS and IOS Terms. It's not Tapas calling the shots, its Apple.

After Tapas took down my pages when they joined the app store, I sent a few pages to check if the censoring was ok before re uploading.

What you 'could' do is get a domain created and slap on wordpress or something and make your uncensored comic there as I have done, this way, on tapas you can leave a link to those interested in seeing the comic fully

Anyway, I temember that someone put the porn in smackjack (actually, I forgotten the name) uncensored.

Is there any hosting place you know where you could put both comic and novel without worrying about the gore and sex?

While I wouldn't consider it categorized as gore, it IS bloody. So maybe that helps ya.

I first thought that it was a marionette until I take a closer look. And your comic looks interesting so I'll try to read the whole thing later.
Btw, what the difference between the mobile version?

Just layout - mobile is easier to read on your phone. I think mobile isn't as far into the story though. o.o

I've been trying to think of any other gory comics I read on here, but I couldn't think of any that really push it.

Daniel has some rather gruesome scenes in chapter 6, but still nothing I would consider pure gore. It's not all that common I think.

Well, better than nothing. At least now I know that dismembering body parts is considered okay (in comic, not rl) on tapas. But if the one who got sawed is a child or animals, would that still be okay thought?

Also, do you know any comic with abuse at children or domestic abuse at general that considered okay on tapas?

And if there's any gore and sex example for novels, I would like to see it too.

I rather take the information now than got flagged down by peoples later.

That would likely be reported - but taken down, that's a different question, one which I couldn't answer. The sensibilities are rather similar to the American movie industry. Violence on children for pure shock effect is rarely used. Exception: Walking Dead with their first episode.

As with all difficult subjects, including domestic abuse: It is generally accepted and does not break the rules given by Tapas. If you don't want people to complain, you need to do your due diligence, however. Research the subject you are portraying. Abuse shouldn't be glorified.

You want to tell a story and you should go for it. It's on you to decide how far you want to push the envelope.

Pretty much if I failed to make the audience understood why I put the 'stuff' in the story, I probably going to be disappointed with myself.

Well I mean, actually buy some dedicated web hosting space and buy a domain name. Wordpress is just a content management platform for you to maintain your site.

I use hostgator but there are plenty of webhosting sites out there with various costs

But if you would like to explained it (in a language a kid can understand) to me, I would like to try to make a webpage (???).

Anyway, back to the topic, do you know any novel with a description of sex and gore? Like I said, I have a hard time finding them, so maybe you know one or two?
