Well, I would disagree and agree that AI is stolen work. Right now, its kinda a grey area as it has not been legally tested before, so we'll have to wait and see what becomes of it. When it comes down to it, I'll throw it under the bus any time of the day, my art skill sucks with or without it anyways.
Also, think of a scenario where the entire world was mechanized. Not to the point where humans have no touch in it, but to the extent that all the redundant jobs are taken over by simplistic, non conscious AI. Yes, I agree that things are going to fall out of trend as the human race grows, but think of the amount of time that can be saved through the mechanization of the process, and who knows, people can laze off with that time, but the people who actually have Ideas will use that time to create original art, products, and such. There are also many AI writers out there that can output books, but you still see writers bieng a valid job as well.
Also yes, doll makers were a valid job, however, it was replaced by mechanization, true. Also you make dollss!!!! dang, can you make a tux cat doll for me?
Anyways, mechanization can supply reliable income to people (Or even UBI), and increase the living standards, so people can be making dolls in a air cooled living room without having to worry about selling the doll and getting enough money for food.
Clearly we have differing opinions, but you make a good point. We may, unfortunately, have to sacrifice some things to achieve a better future. Though, knowing us humans, we're probably gonna start ww3, then ww4, then a war involving mars or something, and we'll all be back in our regular wood living rooms making dolls to feed ourselves. So you might be right after all. XD
