No. Ian just fell asleep and the bartender asks Mev to remove him because apparently he’s the only employee and his shift is over. So Mev decides to forcefully invite him to dinner at her house. Or “kidnap” him. It’s unclear how she got him there though… I’m guessing she stole someone’s wheelbarrow.

They'd always kind of been around each other, both being highborn nobility, but Adelia's father ordered her to use her hallucinogenic shadows on Elias, the heir to a dukedom, to kill another Duke to incite a war between the two dukedoms where he could come out on top. But Adelia failed and her father ended up killing her No worries tho, she was sent back in time and is trying to fix everything by going to a very deadly military academy where you bond to mythical creatures. And while Adelia remembers everything, Elias doesn't, but he follows her there anyways not quite knowing why

This is such a good question! In If I Never Saw the Sun, Kai is the pursuer and he has a charismatic power that draws people to him, but Bard still has the most agency. It's up to him whether the relationship moves forward. Kai is so infatuated with Bard that it makes him (Kai) stupid, too, so he's a bit on the back foot.

If this means which of them is the person who can move the relationship forward, then I would say Ian. Although Mev is the one who initiated their relationship, they’re currently just friends and Mev would be okay with that until they both died of old age. Even if she does develop feelings for him, she won’t act on them unless she thinks he feels the same way. Ian on the other hand, if he does develop feelings towards Mev he’ll act on them eventually, because he’s not very patient.
