Yeah, romance and BL do really well on the site and has a strong audience so I can imagine that it gets promoted easily just over the sheer amount of views it gets for the website in general.

Works being done on my cover for a light novel I have been planning to put on here. But if people arent really up for something that is anime esque. I feel like my chances just dropped.

Well the consensus is actually that it's popular right now. And personally I'm not against it, its just really prevalent right now is all. That doesn't make it good or bad. Besides you should create what you want to create no matter what this thread or anyone says

You should post it Contrary to the popular opinion on this thread, I actually really enjoy the anime-style. I find it easier on my eyes, and it's appealing to me. I really like light novels in general too! They're easier for me to want to get into and read, especially on busy days.

Well I have two. The first should be up sometime in June if everything goes smoothly with the cover. As for the second, I still need to figure that out. The plan if things go well is ten episodes, five between the two a month but that's probably a few months off.

I love these comments from people who look at eastern influenced styles like "Ah yes, this is anime, all anime looks the same" but fail to notice all western comics look exactly the same if we start comparing them with the same standards.

I mean, as far as art style goes, I had a friend who fairly mistook some of the BL series in the Mature Section as being drawn by the same artist. ¯l_(ツ)_/¯

Not to get too off topic, but I always thought The Arrival by Shaun Tan was a refreshing comic, a nice visual mix of fantastical and realism/semi-realism.

Oh my god, they all have the exact same pose too! I could pull out my hoard of yaoi I collected in high school, and I bet all the covers would look almost the exact same, like all the artists just copied off each others covers.
