I did but not at the same time, like i deleted one on one comic and then they posted on it again

Seconding this, I just blocked 3, and now I have 6 new comments. Not sure if it's because I blocked, or if it's the new wave of friens.

They've now changed their tune to "great story" and are doing it less to the series I have the first(last) episode turned off. Blocking doesn't seem to make a difference.

I think people are jumping the gun on correlation when it comes to the spam. I don't think deleting/blocking affects whether or not you keep getting them. You're getting less because the bot is coming in waves not from any actions you're taking. I can't say this 100% for sure obviously but just been testing around and it doesn't seem anything I do makes a difference and it's just coming in waves.

Well, personally they were commenting on my comic continuously for about a 2.5 hour period every few minutes or so. Then they stopped for the first time about a half hour ago. I've been refreshing the page and still nothing. There were a total of 19 comments (18 I blocked + 1 I deleted), and my comic currently has 70 episodes (including the unpublished ones).

I guess I'll see what happens there.

They stopped commenting on my comics because I turned off commenting, not because I deleted them.
