Gag comics can be a challenge too if you go overboard and make them that way gives side eye to self.
I make more of a gag a day comic but this one in particular was to help my readers' mental health. [image]
I highly highly recommend Night In the Woods. One of the best games I've ever played. It's relatable on some level to most people, and can in some cases change your perception of the world.
Fennec foxes Arctic foxes Red wolves Viperfish Goblin Shark Blobfish Vampire Squid
I create a comic called WebCanids about foxes, wolves, coyotes, and dogs. https://tapas.io/series/WebCanids I also follow some that I think are pretty good: Tori and Samuel https://tapas.io/series/toriandsamuel Vote Mr. Cat https://tapas.io/series/Vote-MrCat Artist Cat https://tapas.…
Best of luck to you!
I just got this comment on my latest comic. Pls no. Not again. [image] Did anyone else get this comment? Edit: Abandoning this post because there's another topic. Heading there.
@toonben Well, along with the tips in the OP, Firstly, I'd suggest trying a layout where all the panels/rectangles of your comic are sequential (on top of each other) rather than next to each other. It makes it easier to read, especially for mobile readers on smaller screens. A big turnoff for…
I've always taken a very hands-off approach with regards to this topic. My comic consists of animals that are literally animals. It's meant for anyone who comes across it, and my audience reflects that, including a large number of my acquired readers that are or appear to be furries. If someone we…
Thank you! Same to you!
Good luck to you! I hope it helps!
Hi everyone! This is a very long post, but it's full of things that I hope you will find useful. This is a followup to a topic I made in November of last year detailing my experiences with publishing my animal comic, WebCanids, to various platforms. I want to share what I've seen and some strate…
Haha thanks! I'm glad you like them! Also thanks for the explanation! I removed the period and it fixed it!
My characters actually say "fren" a lot because they am aninmals.
Pretty much the exact same thing happened to me.
It reminds me a lot of how YouTube bots work. They usually say almost the same thing ("Great video! Let's be YouTube friends! Here's a shady link!")
Oh look at that, I just got four at exactly the same time. Huh.
Well, personally they were commenting on my comic continuously for about a 2.5 hour period every few minutes or so. Then they stopped for the first time about a half hour ago. I've been refreshing the page and still nothing. There were a total of 19 comments (18 I blocked + 1 I deleted), and my comi…
Has anyone gotten more than one on the same comic episode? I haven't so far.
I ended up with a total of 18 blocked bots before they seemed to stop. I haven't gotten a new spam comment in roughly 30 minutes.
I second this suggestion. Or third it, or whatever order I was in.
If you check www.pixabay.com and search using the "vectors" and "illustrations" filters you can usually find some useful assets that are verified Public Domain or CC0. I only use it for reference though, personally.
That's a good point! Ah yes, that's a good one. A little harder to implement from scratch I think but it's definitely useful. I have seen those features on some standalone sites and I like them too! I am pretty sure a lot of ComicFury sites still have those functions. I am not good at…
Hi, everyone! I am in the process of designing and building a site for my comic and I was wondering what design choices would be smart for such a use case. For my comic, my audience is built from 8 different places so I feel like a central hub would be beneficial as a supplement and for organizati…
I just want more followers, especially on Instagram and Facebook. It's going well so far, but I'd love to be on the level of some big comics that are in the same genre as mine like Awoocomic, which started after mine and blew up really fast. I just need to work out how I can too. I've had comics go …
This is Red. Red likes to scream. Red also likes Christmas candy. [image]
In no particular order. AC Stuart (awoocomic) Nathan W. Pyle (Strange Planet) Rob DenBleyker (Cyanide and Happiness) Kris Wilson (Cyanide and Happiness) Dave McElfatrick (Cyanide and Happiness) Steven DeLuxi (The World of Luxi) Sapphire Luna (Artist Cat and Vote Mr. Cat) I'm generic and proud o…
4/10, Looks very friendly, but if you get on their bad side they could mess you up big time with some magical powers.
I have one, but I don't use it for drawing as often as I'd like. I just use it as a second monitor at the moment. I'm planning on drawing with it more when I have a bit of free time in about a month. The main reason I don't use it much right now is because I haven't gotten to practice with it much a…
Instagram is for sure the most valuable from what I personally have seen, and if you can leverage Reddit well that's great! Just don't forget to try and encourage visitors to follow you (I do this using a separate end panel that says "Want more WebCanids? Check out [these websites and usernames…
