I'm thinking of making videos talking about topics that I feel can sometimes be overlooked in our favorite animes such as One Piece, My Hero Academia, Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball, and many others. For example in my video here.

Be wary of spoilers for One Piece. I'm looking to have discussions with people who are familiar with the source material. I have plenty more videos in mind like rewrites and plot holes but I'm curious if any of you have any thoughts on your favorite animes that kind of bring it down a few notches in rating. I'm all for liking a series but none of them are perfect and perfection is something we strive for. Just because you criticize a series doesn't mean you don't still love it. Feel free to share your thoughts on any anime that you have any critiques on and I'll pick one to make a video about. It doesn't matter if I haven't seen it or not cause I'll be more than willing to watch it and then make the video. Here's a list of animes I've watched so far through the years.

  1. Clannad 2. Buso Renkin 3. Air Gear 4. Fullmetal Alchemist/Brotherhood 5. Inuyasha 6. Fooly Cooly 7. Code Geass 8. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 9. Welcome to the N.H.K. 10. Heaven's Lost Property(favorite)

There's more but I'd be writing these all day lol so feel free to add yours to the convo.

A few of Anime series I liked to watch back in the 1990s are hardly mentioned anywhere.
'You are Under Arrest'. and 'Ghost Sweeper Mikami.'

And also 'Ninja Robots' from the 1980s.

@CarltonIsaac Thanks! To be honest I've never heard of them but I will be sure to look into them. As far as topics go... What do you think is something about these series that deserves a discussion? It can be for any reason...

I'm a huge fan of series like Super Dimension Fortress Macross (this one's a little rough, but I love its themes and messages), Macross: Do You Remember Love? (My FAVORITE movie), and Macross Plus (My FAVORITE FAVORITE FAVORITE movie). Ghost in the Shell is another favorite of mine. I loved the protagonist's arc revolving around her wanting to be more human and her getting the opportunity to be much more.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure HAS to be my all time favorite series. Probably the greatest series of all time (don't @ me). Dragon Quest: Our Story was perfect, although people may have an issue with the ending which I don't blame? But at the same time, I understand completely where the writers were coming from and I respect it nonetheless. It has a LEGO Movie vibe to it. The Gundam movie trilogy is so great as well. I'd go as far as calling it the equivalent to Japan's Star Wars.

Uhhh... I got more...

Castle of Cagliostro is the best Ghibli movie imo. Assassination Classroom, Death Note, The Disastorous Life of Saiki K. (The Office of Japan). First two seasons of Fist of the North Star (I love how unapologetically old fashioned it is). Finally, Getter Robo.

I love JoJo's bizarre adventure, Magic Knight Rayearth, all Ghibli films, BNA, Madoka Magica and Evangelion!

A fan here of both the original 1999 run of HunterxHunter (of which I think of as the superior version) and the 2011 version as well. Of course, Dragonball Z, Naruto, every Ghibli film, Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece (although only recently in this latest Wano arc). One Punch Man (just the first season) and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

Im a great fan of One Punch Man and Bleach! Please, dont spoil me for the last one, Im on the chapter 40 of the Manga :flushed:🥺

I'm a fan of most isekai animes like SAO and Slime anime. Other than that i like action anime like HunterXHunter, Noragami (One of my personal favourites) Boruto, Bleach, DBZ, FMA Brotherhood, JOJO, Assasination classroom, SpyXFamily, Jujutsu Kaisen, Hero Academia, Star Wars Visions, Death Note and then my two favourite anime of all time being Gintama and disastrous life of Saiki K

For a second I've read "Why, anime fans?" and thought: well, that's a fair question.

Why indeed, anime fans, why indeed

@powerplantanimations you've named a lot of good ones and the only one I've watched is "Assassination Classroom". Another good one which is a comedy is called "Baka And Test" which is a favorite I forgot to mention. @Stargazer31 I've heard of Evangelion but I will have to look into the rest. @BitterBadgerZ I've watched quite a few of the ones you listed except One Punch Man, Jojo Bizarre Adventure, and Jujutsu Kaisen. @SargentAlchemist Bleach is really good and actually I'm thinking I could do a rewrite video for the series. @dadimoandmincart I feel like after a while the whole isekai genre kind of got stale and just became a power fantasy instead of exploring and adventuring into a vast new realm. @FafasMcMelt and @ar-ninetysix because we love anime. I don't like a lot of the character archetypes in shonen but everything is actually refined.

I like 91 days, chainsaw man, and steins gate. Those are some of favs

I can't say i'm fanatic as I don't watch as much now... beside the obvious popular shounen seriess I mostly enjoy. Certain older cult animes like Kaiji, or the 100-episode anime Dragon Quest: Dai's adventure, they are my favorites. I'm also a sucker for Aggrestuko series.

I used to watch a lot of anime, lately I’m just really picky, I find most new ones really boring  But that’s just me lol
I enjoyed animes like Elfen Lied, Shinsekai Yori, Zetsuen no Tempest, Chibi Vampire, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Code Geass, Tokyo Ghoul, Black Blood Brothers, Blue Exorcist.
