Any aspies out there?

Hi, I have Asperges syndrome. Ive started making a comic to help give myself something to focus on which has been helping immensely. I don't have alot of skill with human interaction but im very observant so i try to show that in my characters . I was wondering is anyone in a similar situation? I have autism and social anxiety along with depression o.o' yeah, I have issues...Anxiety and depression from my mother's side and autism from my dad's. Two of my cousins also have autism and my brother has it bad enough to the point he doesn't even talk. I'm also vary observant and I hear sounds that are difficult for others to hear.

"hugs" depression is the worst. I find i often lack the willpower to do anything on certain days so i understand. I have a brother too but he has OCD so he often checks my stuff for grammar which is handy and frustrating at the same time as my spelling is so bad lol ^^

One of my aunts is OCD too xD hers is actually pretty annoying, yeah my spelling isn't the best either and neither is my vocab which I'm currently working on for the sake of my story. But yeah, depression is the worst and I think it's pretty common in people that have anything in the autism spectrum.

Thats true. ^^ My friend is a aspie but his focus is in music . Seems most people i know on the autism spectrum have a speciality. He's given me advice on lots of things i could add for future instalments. Just hope it will be good enough to continue with.

I too have Aspergers Syndrome, and lack interaction skill.
I've also been making comics. For me its a safe and effective way to take away frustration and depression.
(Even though It sometimes causes my depression, but I've learned to not compare my skill level to others.)

Above is a link to a really (really really) well-written article about aspergers and the art of allegory. It's especially rewarding if you're a fan of Community.

I thought that the most interesting part of the article deals with comics and character tropes - how it was comforting to the author that each comic character fell into a certain trope and had a specific role to play in the architecture of the story. I thought that this sort of relates to topic at hand.

It's a long read, but well worth it.
