I just wanted to know if anyone here was dealing with constant back or wrist problems when drawing their comics. Could anyone please share any tips which could help reduce these while working on my webcomic?

These are the only exercises which I found so far which helped me deal a bit better with my wrist pain but I'm totally clueless for my back pain.

Wrist-stretches are good and important! But to prevent them - and the backpain - from happening at all, regular exercise is good. Getting up from your desk and excercising in general.

I do a lot of long walks as often as possible (daily, when the weather and circumstances permit), and do pushups and such. It's not much, but it keeps me from getting backpains.

I saw this tweet with yoga exercises for artists/desk-bound people1 which all seem very useful.

Really, though, just exercising in general, getting away from your desk and moving around helps. Stand up at least once an hour and stretch your whole body and wander around for a little bit.

Yeah that's a big problem, and it's far better to take steps to prevent it from getting worse than not doing anything. I normally use the exercises on this video1 for wrist pain, or you could try wearing a wrist brace. Still do your research since they can sometimes do more harm than good.

For the back pain, check your posture when you work. What kind of chair do you have? Is your desk too low or too high? Is there a lot of strain on your wrist and elbow? Getting a good setup for when you draw is critical. Or at least that's what helped me haha

Good luck

Thanks a lot for these advices! Yeah prevention is always better.
I didn't really consider yoga exercised but I'll start practicing these poses on the tweet. Hope they are safe. I'm also going to try to take more breaks and make daily walks when I can.

Stretching... Push-ups... Sit-ups... Bear walk (walking on ground with all fours)... Throw in some cardio like running or jumping... And you'd be good to go  at least 30 mins exercise a day.

Having a physically demanding day job can help too (I.e. anything in construction, warehouse, truck driving, auto mechanic, etc) so you don't need to waste time exercising cuz you do it already on the job lol

I never though that my desk height or the type of chair I'm using could play a role in my back's pain so I'll see if i need to change these.. It hard to be mindfull all the time of my posture when I'm drowning in my work but I'll try it. Thank you for the tips!

It's tricky, yeah! Gosh knows I spend most of my drawing time curled up like some kind of shrimp. Sitting up straight does wonders!

If you are a twitter-user, I recommend following @tinycarebot4 - it's a bot that tweets tiny self-care reminders once an hour. Things like remembering to stretch, remembering to drink some water, reminding you to check your posture, to eat, to say hi to a friend, to take a break, etc., etc. Every single time it's tweeted "please check your posture", I've been sitting weirdly, so it's definitely been helpful for me!

jogging it helps because if you sit on the chair for too long your back will hurt, so it's better you move and drinking water or tea
