Frontier Graveyard A western meet zombies comic. It's about a group of cowboys who are trying to survive a zombie outbreak and uncover it's origins. The art is really great and I love the dialogues.

That one of my major issue when author want to make their comic characters as diverse as possible. Some of them have tend to have poor character development. They are sometime there just to fill the quota. Hollywood has been doing this for quite some time. That not always the case though. Our s…

You've already been given some great advices here. I would just add that it's important to know what genre you want to write your story for. This could really help you have a better idea of the way it should be presented and what genre conventions you should respect. Also read comics which are from …

Deep underdogs. A character that has all the odds playing against him/her. He/she is no a chosen one by the gods, or prophecy to save the world. He/she is not destined to be married to some great king/queen/emperor of some kingdom. He/she isn’t not born in some wealthy/powerful family. They also…

Everything looks good for me so far! Really like what I've seen! Love the twist at the end!

Once I have an idea about the story I want to tell I start by writing a brief sentence which resume the key event or theme i want to explore in my comic. For a long story I spend a lot of time researching. I write tons of details about my characters, world and story's structure. Once these elemen…

Here this comic is silent and does pretty well. Believe in yourself and post your work online. Also check this forum thread tons of tips about writing are given there.

I've been trying to write short stories but I have encountered some of the problems you also have so I'll tell you what I've learn so far. Don't try to introduce too many characters stick to a small cast between two or three characters who really drive the story. Avoid lenghy backstory or expo…

I'm listening to comicxplain too. I find spiderman to be my favorite among the marvel superheroes because I find him a bit more relatable. The funny thing is I've never read a DC or Marvel comic. I discovered most of their heroes and universe through their movie adaptations. The only superheroes mo…

Right now it has been a bit all over the place for the number pages but I 'm looking to post between ten and twenty panels every friday for my webcomic. The idea is to have a fresh new story every week which is short and intense.

I think deities tend to symbolize certain ideas or things. For that reason I like using them when I'm looking for a character who can fully represent a certain subject i want to explore in my project.

Yeah things can get pretty rough at line when there are contests.

My comic would be better if : My stories and characters weren't so outlandish but more down to earth. i actually work more on my characters personalities and dialogues. Improve my panels flow. Published shorter chapters. I actually went to an art college.

I understand where you come from but I think there isn't really a perfect formula. The art level or density of plot vary greatly when it comes to web comics.

The third one is the most interesting one because you give a bit more details about the event taking place in the story. Just don't forget to keep some things mysterious. For exemple i think you could have have not mentioned the fact that the witch is being on the run or that there exist a magical …

I never though that my desk height or the type of chair I'm using could play a role in my back's pain so I'll see if i need to change these.. It hard to be mindfull all the time of my posture when I'm drowning in my work but I'll try it. Thank you for the tips!

Thanks a lot for these advices! Yeah prevention is always better. I didn't really consider yoga exercised but I'll start practicing these poses on the tweet. Hope they are safe. I'm also going to try to take more breaks and make daily walks when I can.

I just wanted to know if anyone here was dealing with constant back or wrist problems when drawing their comics. Could anyone please share any tips which could help reduce these while working on my webcomic? These are the only exercises which I found so far which helped me deal a bit better with m…

I think you should stick to 3d bakgrounds if this helps you keep updating your comic regulary. Like the others have said the trick is to reduce the presence of textures or pixelation in your backgrounds. Google sketchup is really cool tool which can give your 3d backgrounds shot sketchy, traditio…

I tried to aim for 20 panels a week rather than pages. I do a basic layout and quick sketches of the chapter (4 hours) than try to not to spend more than 10 hours working on the line arts so I can't get some sleep at night. Then I finish it with the colouring and other effects which takes me around …

It is fine to be a slow artist. Don't worry about finding readers who accept to wait long periods between update. There tons of webcomics like this one where authors take their time to update and they have huge followings. It can really benefit you if you want to make the comicart as best as poss…

Some people can't accept the fact that BL comics are trending more and more on tapastic because they fear their work will be eclipsed if it doesn’t include a gay relationship at the core of their story. In the end some will get use to this new trend eventually and realise that they can keep doing…

Great analysis and thanks for sharing it! Short comics with minimal dialogues and details are becoming increasingly more popular these days. I think some audience don’t want to invest time into a long comic unless you are published by a big publisher in the mainstream they trust or you’re already…

There are three essential rules I follow when I work on my comics: It needs a theme or a message which drives the story. It needs a simple story which can be resumed in one sentence. It needs a clear source of tension/ conflict which pushes the plot stakes.

I guess it depends of what the author wants: If he want his villain name to make people laugh he can call him something like potato. If he want his/her name to give him/her a positive image which hides in reality his true evil nature he can call him something like Heart or Braverie. This is act…

I usually write a short summary of the events of my comic chapter since this is what appears on the description tweet when I share my comic pages on twitter.

There isn't much Bl work in the mainstream at the moment so young girls and certain middle age women rushed to indiecomics websites like Tapastic to found Bl works which sastify their sexual fantasms. It also part of the LGBT movement which is very big at the moment so it attract this audience whi…

Thanks a lot! You're really a life saver!
