Any good ways to make jokes for your comic?

I've been looking around the forums for a while now and I never found a topic pertaining to this specifically and I was was wondering how do you comedy comic writers out there come of with jokes for your comics? I've hit a kind of a comedic writers block recently (even them my jokes on my comic now aren't home runs, I'm still new to the whole web comic thing) and have been throwing around ideas for jokes in my comic but nothing has really been standing out. So far the method I've tried is to think of a single word and bounce ideas off the wall until a joke comes out of it. Are there any methods out there to help come up with them or any methods to make jokes even better?

Any joke need a "victim", it's the basic of comedic. We tend to laugh at people who do stupid thing and fail. But to get into creating a joke is quite hard, you shouldn't force a joke, you have to make it naturally happened.
Just write anything that make you laugh yourself, then fine tune it and that should be enough.

First is important to know there are various kinds of humor. And each will appeal to different people.

In my comic i try to appeal to a wider audience, so i try jokes with different kinds of humor.

Here is a list of different types:

Physical comedy: one of the classics, laughing at somebody falling
Surreal humor: laughing at the absurdity of the situation
Puns: jokes using a word. Excel works too.
Parody: play with the expectations of certain genres to give a funny twist
Cringe comedy: laughing at the awkwardness of a situation
Dark humor: turning the horrifying/inapropiate/dirty into funny. Be careful with this one, if your comic is too lighthearted, it may alienate your audience if you do a joke like that.
Exageration: sometimes is funny to exagerate a situation or a person`s reaction.
Relatable humor: Laughing at the typical situations of real life. (be careful, some are overused)

For a joke you need:

Build up:You need to generate certain expectations
A punchline: break them in a hillarious way.

Just visualize your characters doing something and if you come up with something that sounds funny to you, try to make it sound funnier. Just don't overthink it. When you got it, write it down. Very important.

As long as you know how your characters will react, everything else should fall into place.

If you're not talking about a gag-a-day type of thing, then fleshing out the characters is a good way. The clearer they are in your mind, the easier they are to write in comedic situations.

Comic timing is extremely important. It's the force behind all those viral clips. Like this one. Learning to add pauses at the right time can make or break a joke.

Expressions are just as important, too. There's a ton of guides to them online.

I would suggest you work with another writer. Put the pressure off your mind for some time. And then when it clicks, you can take the helm back. Also, when you collaborate, you can see a new perspective, hear a new voice.

There's a saying in my line of work: "Give me the freedom of a tight brief." This means it's easier to be creative if you must follow certain rules or if you're given certain conditions. My comic is about everyday life after death, and this gives me a set of guidelines to follow.

What I like to do first is come up with a topic or situation, or maybe let someone else come up with a topic. For example hipsters, bull fighters or the ferryman on the river Styx. Then I try to figure out what could be funny or strange about this topic. Sometimes I just want to draw a specific thing, like a cosplay girl or a cat. Then I try to figure out what could be funny about cosplay or cats – but always following the guidelines for my comic. I don't think too much about the jokes being verbal or slapstick or if they're smart or dumb. Everything goes as long as I can wrap it up in some kind of punchline.
