Hi, not sure if you're still looking for manga style comic to read at this point,
I also grew up reading lots of manga only and my comic is action romance full color manga, set in scifi/fantasy environment.

Feel free to give it a shot if you'd like, it's a seinen genre

I fell in love with the artistic beauty of manga and found the story lines so engaging and some very psychologically realistic in human behavior of all kinds...good, bad, and ugly!

I've just newly discovered manga/anime about 7 years ago and haven't let go yet. My sci-fi story, The Watchman, is influenced by the art style.

The style is clean and beautiful, the characters and their expressions are lively and engaging. And you make it look so effortless, for some reason. It's like you just breezed through all these pages and pages of coloured artwork

If there's one thing to point out though, it's that I feel like the contrast in shadows on the characters is a little much, making it difficult to make out the shape of each character in its entirety, and separate them from the background.

Oh and manga-styled artist here I grew up with this stuff (since the 80's!) and it's like it's been ingrained into my dna, and I wouldn't want it any other way!

Find a copy of Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind

The animation is a much different story because it was made long before the manga finished. Greatest manga I have ever read, beautifully drawn and one of the best stories I have read including novels.

The story is set in the future at the closing of the ceramic era, 1,000 years after the Seven Days of Fire, a cataclysmic global war, in which industrial civilization self-destructed. Although humanity survived, the land surface of the Earth is still heavily polluted and the seas have become poisonous. Most of the world is covered by the Sea of Corruption, a toxic forest of fungal life and plants which is steadily encroaching on the remaining open land. It is protected by large mutant insects, including the massive Ohmu. Humanity clings to survival in the polluted lands beyond the forest, periodically engaging in bouts of fighting for the scarce resources that remain.

I prefer making and reading manga-style stories the most. Mines not fancy, but it tells a unique story you don't normally see in other manga. It's a good way to practice drawing for me. Give it a shot if you like:
