Anyone else have weird habits when they draw or write?

Sometimes I do the same facial expression I am drawing to my characters, and I often start talking alone, to myself or to the page

I usually make weird facial expressions or when I'm really into what I'm doing and not drawing a face, I just glare hard at what I'm drawing. XD I lean forward and glare and I don't notice until I'm out of the zone. But if I'm listening to a podcast or something while drawing, I've noticed that I laugh and talk as if I'm talking to whoever's speaking in the podcast. XD

when I write talking scenes I talk them aloud so its a good job I live alone because I probably could be mistaken for a schizophrenic, especially when i'm writing a scene with arguments

I don't understand why but whenever I'm really in the zone while drawing, I cover my mouth XD it's the weirdest thing

I make weird facial expressions while drawing, like trying to reproduce my character's feelings (If I'm drawing a girl crying, I'm problably dying in my tears).

Yeah, I think is just that. While I write too. I always looks to feel my character's feelings, I think it's because they're all are a part of me.

When I'm drawing expressions, I tend to make the expresions with myself, and I tend to talk alone my own jokes or other stuff for the comic and reply to myself (of course none answers except... me? xD)

If I'm really into it I'll start saying the dialogue out loud. I tend to feel what the characters are feeling too so it can cause me to get teary eyed or make character based expressions. Those are more for writing tho, I always feel pretty emotionally detached when it's the drawing portion. Probably because it takes so long to finish anything XD

Yep thats exactly what i do, it gets me in trouble cause whenever im doing a super serious expression or angry expression people walk by and see me and ask if theres something wrong X'D

I make whatever expression that I'm trying to draw. Get's pretty weird in public.

Haha yes I talk to myself too! I also speak and sing in my characters voices XD it's funny to me, and that keeps me "awake" and on track of my work =P

I talk to myself, I sing to myself, I talk and sing to anybody in my vicinity, I chew on a pen. Not my tablet pen, a separate pen that I pick up entirely for the purpose of chewing on it. And it isn't really a habit, but when I get really into the art I drool everywhere, which is just another reason that I don't draw and hang out with friends at the same time.

If thinking of or planning diolouge i'll catch myself making the facial expressions and actually mouthing the words, which isn't good because 90% of the time i'm in public.

when i'm drawing and in the zone i stick my tongue out a little. i didn't even know i did that till my brother pointed it out once

And like most people here, I unconsciously replicate the facial expressions of the characters I'm drawing.

Not sure if this is considered, but when I write or draw something I notice I'm constantly drawn nearer and nearer to the screen. It usually happens when I'm focused and then when I snapped out of it, I'm like few inches away or something from the monitor..

@Ogono, I talk to myself too sometimes X'D It helps me analyse the plot and see if everything is consistent. I don't know if it counts as a weird habbit, but usually I listen to music when I draw, then sing along and swing my booty :v

yes I do that too, it gives you bad eye strain and damages your eyes ! my advice is try to break that habit

I think like a lot of what others have already mentioned, I do the same expression my characters' are doing, especially when its an expression I really want to get down right. This only usually only happens for more "negative expressions" involving frowning, sad faces, uncertainty etc. If my characters are smiling, I usually don't smile xD

Another bad habit I get is the more I get into drawing, my face gets closer and closer to the paper. Though I think this may have to do with bad posture instead ^^;
