This is the main barrier I have. Having a whole 3-part name being constantly used throws me for a loop, especially if they contain parts that sound similar to another character.
Particularly for Western authors trying to imitate East-Asian translations but still writing for a Western market, I'd rather them introduce the full 3-part name, but only use one to actually address the character.
Like take my mom's Chinese name Seeto Kam Hing. Seeto is her last name (she's got one of those rare 2 syllable surnames), Kam is her generational name, and Hing is her 'first' given name. When addressed in Chinese, people just call her Hing.
