Are there any events on Tapas for new novel writers?

while i was exploreing the forum I came across many events for comics but none for novels. are there any events for novel writers especially new writers, if not why?

Yeah, what @IntoTheTempest said. I think if we ask for it enough, we’ll eventually get some events, but my guess is that it’ll still be a while.

Only 5000k words would be brutal for me My 'short stories' average out around 16K words and never under 10K... I don't think I know how to write any shorter,

I’m pretty sure that would be brutal for me, too, now that I think about it maybe like 10k words, then LOL but it would have to be pretty low for the judges to read through all the submissions.

Flashfiction under 1 or 2K is probably better. 5K is a serious commitment for polishing a story and for judging.

There used to be events for novelists as well called Writers Camps, where people could enter contests to get their novels into the Premium programme. I can't speak for Tapas as I don't know for sure the reason it was discontinued, but I get the impression that in general the contests were causing more drama than they necessarily provided good content.

But I do agree that there should be more done for novelists on site. We get less of the front page, no social media promotion, and are working with a site algorithm and design that favours how comics work over how novels do. I would really like some events but also working out events that everyone can do that are also fun takes work from the team to try to make the most amount of people happy and so I imagine it's just a bit of a nightmare all round to get them off the ground.
