No, it's just that the WiiU was such a huge disappointment, I felt like we spent a lot and bought it and there was hardly any games to play! They promised us more non-nintendo games and uhh..idk I didn't see that much?? all the games are the usual zelda, mario, pokemon, etc and I only played smash and splatoon honestly. I feel like the nintendo Switch will turn out the same, too expensive, only nintendo games, etc.

It wasn't paid online that wasn't selling it to me. I was just mentioning all of the combined prices that eventually add up, and paid online is just a small part of that. Not to say that I would never use paid online if I had one though. Since I mentioned Splatoon 2 was one of the only 2 games I was interested in, that is paid online. So hypothetically, if I did get a Switch, I would be incurring that cost too. Anyway, I'm not really upset about paid online. Everyone has it. But Nintendo isn't offering good rewards with their subscription service, unlike their competitors.

Oh, other games they'll develop in the future will definitely use them. Nintendo put a LOT of time and money into those joy con controllers for them to be used eventually.

I'll happily get it if I have the money to. I'm interested in and excited for it. It's also worth noting that Nintendo are basically the only ones in the business with real, desirable exclusives. The fact that they've also at long last discarded region locking makes it even more something I see myself as enjoying; in past, the region lock made things so much more difficult for anyone and everyone to really have the freedom of choice in games.

Nintendo generally do an excellent job on their exclusives, they make good, durable consoles, and I trust them a lot more than Microsoft or Sony, both of whom I've had major problems with that were either not dealt with, not dealt with well, or shouldn't have existed in the first place.

The Switch seems to take everything I like and put it into one system, so I find it attractive and the concept an agreeable one. As I said before though, I'll have to have the money spare to do it, and I never get anything at launch anymore. Give it a few months and wait for the inevitable bugs to be worked out.

I want one sooo badly but I'm super-broke at the moment, so hopefully by the end of the year I'll have one in my hands. It's going to be tough seeing everybody post photos to twitter on launch day, hehe. They're bound to release a Splatoon2 bundle later in the year, right?!

No. I'm not buying one just to play Zelda Breath of the Wild (which is also being released on the Wii U) or a remastered Mario Kart 8.

To be honest, no. I'm planning on saving up for a ps4 instead, not to mention I have a feeling the switch is going to completely flop like the wiiu did.
Overall it just seems too gimmicky for me.

Actually, I am. Maybe I'm overly optimistic, but I think it blends a lot of previous Nintendo consoles rather nicely. Sure, they did away with backwards compatibility and Nintendo has fooled me in the past, but I think there's a lot of potential. The only launch title worth getting is Zelda, but that will entertain long enough for the other third party games, which I feel like will become much more common, since the Switch is much easier to develop for than previous consoles. Returning to the cartridge based system means faster load times and portability. Overall, I have high hopes, but only time will tell.

I havent been willing to buy a nintendo console since Gamecube, which was an awesome system with awesome games. The Wii had a few games I was interested in, but not enough for me to get the console, plus I wasn't a fan of the controller. Same with Wii U and gimmicky Switch is looking the same way so far. Breath of the Wild is the only game I'm interested in right now from Nintendo...but not enough to be a system seller.
Playstation just has so much of what I'm into, I'm happy with it. Still, I'd like Nintendo to turn things around and get me interested again...I just don't know what the heck they've been doing/thinking lately.

I was really tempted, because I think the Switch looks awesome, and it comes out a week before my birthday, but I bought a Wii U not too long ago and haven't really played it a whole lot yet. I mostly just wanted the Switch for Breath of the Wild, so when I found out it was also going to be released for the Wii U that made my decision for me. Maybe I'll cave and get a Switch someday though!

Although I have to say, Nintendo picked a much cooler name this time around than for their last couple of consoles, haha.

Well for PS4 I don't think anyone has used that touch pad. I hope I'm wrong because it seems like such a neat feature.
