Are you taking part in the Webtoon Legends contest 2025?

I'm definitely joining the contest. been working on my comic with my artist for a while now. and if you didn't know, the submission period is about to open!

1. working as a writer-artist duo
2. making a new one, this contest just happened to coincide with when I was planning to post my webtoon so I just figured it's a good chance to get some eyes on it, even if we don't win.
3. planning to join the action/fantasy category with my Cyberpunk Shonen webcomic.
4. as the writer, I'm mainly nervous about my writing. worried that some people won't like my characters or story. but I know that whatever happens, I did my best.

Hey everyone!

How's the Webtoon Competition going for y'all?

@fiddlyturtle to answer your questions:

1) We worked as a team for this competition (@glennsworldcomicz rocked the art, I did the words).
2) Our comic is a brand new Webtoon (whew)
3) We chose Epic Feels (Romance/Drama)
4) Selfishly, being able to focus solely on writing was such a blessing, my only real worry is missing the mark on pacing/etc. The 40 panels per episode minimum adds a bit of an artificial-nature to the pacing, but once I got the rhythms down, I felt better about it. But, unselfishly, I know how much work drawing a comic is and I am most nervous about wasting my partner's time (because he rules and I love how the comic turned out).

Our comic is "Eve" and we're up now (it's at the top of my link tree- I'll share that link incase Tapas doesn't want to link directly to Webtoon and feels like taking it down).

I would but I don't do webtoons contests anymore due to they only look at engagement and audience reaction. I might try my current comic just to get more views if it can be subbmitted. I may think about it.

Yeah, having 40 percent of your overall score on engagement is super daunting.

On the day the Call to Action contest winners were revealed, I refreshed the page every 30 seconds until the news broke. As quickly as I could, I looked at the winner’s engagement and it wasn’t horrendous (I think only about 300 subs at the time it was announced). But it’s still not an easy number to crack. I wish I screenshotted it so I could have a better idea of the metrics.

Webtoons should focus more on the creativity and fun story and art more then just engagement even smaller indi comics pack a punch to read.

Also anyone know if you can submit your current webtoon in a new canvas stating it's for this contest entry. I may re post the first three episodes?

It looks like you have to submit a new one. I may try my original series for the first three episodes to see how it goes do you guys think I should try?

Never hurts to try. The turnaround for the fourth and fifth episode (if you make it to round 2) is tight, so if you have a plan, I say rock it!

I plan on subbmitng an older comic that I'm redrawing hope I get the first episode done in time. lol

I'd submit the comic I'm currently working on, but the full colour requirement means I don't qualify, and I don't have time to colour 120 panels by May 15th. (Heck, I don't even HAVE 120 panels drawn at this point.) I'll just keep trucking along at my own pace.
