I'm working on a project right now and looking for a partner artist if you or anyone you know might be interested. I'll check yours out and try to spread the love.
As of right now it's a graphic novel and/or comic in the character design/promo phase.
I'm looking to build up some visual work to back up the writing. Nothing too intensive, just early stage stuff, something I can use to pitch it and get you paid.
I'd love to say "get US paid" but I'm focused on your end as my time will be relatively freed up to pursue the business end, with the script done. I will always be available, though. This is a partnership.
I'm finishing/editing the script and I've got the first 30 pages up on Wattpad, sans the panel-map. (Link below)
It will give you an idea of my writing style, the setting, characters and whether it piques your interest.
Broad strokes:
New Houston Blues: Shepherd and the Wolf
A man stumbles on a mass of "creche kids" in the tiered, pyramidal metropolis of Bastion. (AKA: New Houston)
... Led (kind of) by an acromegalic Irishman and a few older kids salvaged from the world "Beyond," they set into motion a plot two lifetimes in the making: a coup that would see the Great Pyramid of Texas returned to the ashes of the past, and a new world grown in it's wake.
Through it all, the unlikely procession navigates the labyrinthine power structure of Downside; the lowest, largest and most dangerous level of New Houston.
Art style: The palette is primarily blue, orange, grey, black and white with occasions of bright color to contrast it...
The inside of the enclosed city has a neglected, digital faux day/night cycle lining the over-arching ceiling and angled walls... Locked in a constant dusk/dawn/night.
A massive furnace burns in the center casting an orange glow over mostly built tenements, neomodern neon signage and neglected public buildings.
The encroaching dust and cold outside freezes the landscape the closer you get to the "Breach," a giant, sliding, steel gateway torn from its' mooring; more jagged mechanical wound than entrance.
Essentially, Bastion was meant to uphold it's namesake as the world "Broke." But was hijacked in the early stages and it's residential level turned into a refugee city after the events of "That Night."
While post-apocalyptic that's more just the backdrop. We're 30 years into this, so we're dealing with the aging population as most realize they lack the skills necessary to survive in the new world while the youngest, and often most desperate among them, adapt to it.
I'm gonna stop there before I drop any spoilers.
Check out the script on Wattpad, New Houston Blues.
I'll be releasing it piece by piece to aid in editing, but I've got the bulk of it done. Figured now would be the time to find a partner before everything is "locked in" plot-wise.
